    Mum is about 2 miles from me, Dad and Nan are in Spain so its several thousand! My other Nan is 50 miles in one direction and my brother 30 miles in the opposite.

    We all stay in touch by telephone, facebook and MSN messenger with webcams. I see more of my Dad than I do my Nan; we visit him once a year but he comes here every couple of months.

    my parents stay about 3 streets away a 15 min walk

    its great as i can see them when i want and not when i dont

    as for my dh his folks stay approx 30 miles away he never sees them.

    as for moving away if you are independent go for it , if you dont like it move back
    give it a go your only young once
