No that's as it should be.

Nope, it's a short-range transmitter. Used to be illegal in the UK until fairly recently, now available on the high street. Normally used for transmitting audio from MP3 players to car stereos where your car stereo hasn't got a cassette player/line in/USB port. I've had a Belkin one for a couple of years - good enough for what it's meant to do but a bit of a pain to use if you're travelling any distance.

I stand corrected. Seems pretty neat. Any idea if one of these would be better quality than a cassette adapter?(which I currently use for playing MP3s on car radio)

Thanks for this and easy payment via PayPal too. Ordered the 32 in 1 card reader as well.

I haven't tried a cassette adaptor for years but IMHO I'd stick with what you've got (I haven't got a cassette player in my car). Mind you, for that price, it might be worth a go.

The Belkin one I've got (Tunecast II) produces decent sound quality if it's plugged in to the ciggie lighter, but a bit weak if it's running off batteries, but you're only ever going to get FM quality at best. You have to pick a blank radio frequency (one that hisses) and tune your car stereo and transmitter to that frequency - if you're running off the car power it blanks out the hiss quite well. But, the blank frequencies change when you drive around so you may have to keep retuning (mine can store 4 frequencies and switch between them) which then usually involves pressing a button on the transmitter and pressing another button on your car stereo to match them up. Don't get me wrong, it's very useful but a cable/direct connection will usually get better results.

I don't think they'd be worse but if like me you only have the 6 pack CD then this is the only way.
  • Don't worry they work well ,I have a similar one, and unless you are a hifi buff you'll find them great!Cassette adaptors don't even come close to these, and are no ood if you have cd anyway

Strange. If I select a product and then click on it for more info I get Product not found! on virtually everything. Pah, stupid website.

Guys, this will happen unless you allow Javascript for the site as I said above.

So not a stupid website, but a user mistake.
