I have tried to buy this afew times but when i click to register as a new customer i just get the same page asking to click to register.

Anyone with the 200 channel find the volume on the iPod needs to be at maximum to get any output or is it just mine?

One of mine arrived this morning. Postie left it attached to front door handle so only noticed as I was leaving the house...without MP3 player :-(

Managed to plug it into the car and transmit. Then, on the car stereo scanned until it automatically picked up something the signal on the frequency I was broadcasting on. When I unplugged the transmitter the hiss on the radio changed so it must be working. I'll plug it into my laptop for my journey home tonight.
  • Thanks to the OP - great buy.

Just wondering - anyone else failed to get good sound - when playing off my MP3 player, it whistles on the car radio...its not on a frequency being used by another radio station (I know because when i shut the fm transmitter off, I just get a hiss).

Is it just the frequency im on...do you all have crystal clear sound?

    Thanks for feedback.

    PM.
  • The Fm modulator is picking up an interference signal from something in the car or from the mp3 player and broadcasting it to the car radio.

Make sure the mp3 is on battery not via ciggie lighter power supply as this causes interference.

It could still also be co channel interference so try some more channels.

As I posted elsewhere you have to be prepaired to tweak YOUR car radio outputs to get the best from these modulators.

What YOUR normal listening settings are for the radio or cd player might not be suitable for mp3 modulator listening.

Usually you have to set the mp3 volume to max possible without distortion and also listen to the car radio at a higher volume, a bit of a nuisance if you switch back to radio 1 etc as its usually too loud.

Also the bass/ treble settings on the mp3 and the car radio need carfull setting.

Usually cut the bass on the mp3 output a little and up it on the car radio as this prevents disstortion in the modulated signal.

Its a case of trial and error as all the combinations of mp3 player and car radio are gonna be vast.

The only common thing here is the Fm modulator and whats good for ones setup might be too loud /distorted for someone elses.

I have to say I'm using an iPod Nano and using the equaliser for al its worth but I REALLY can't find an acceptable combination - I'm listening to audiobooks so that probably doesn't help.

I was getting so frustrated after 14 hours of Dalziel and Pascoe, I was in the last 20 mins in an armed hostage taking and I couldn't make out what they were saying... ;)

...................and you couldn't SEE what they were doing either!

Depends on the quality of the mp3 obviously what bitrate was it?

Also , whats the music sound like?

I never really listen to audio this way anyway, I think it might be the same however you amplify this type of source.
