100% CPU usage? Which process is responsible?0

Take a look at my stats, using a similar system:

The most stable operating system is Windows 3.11 after removing the AARD code.
I still run it on my 486. Works perfectly and ever since I added dual inline memory modules at 4mb per stick the speed has rocketed!
My modem is flying at 56kbps but the problem I am currently having is with running Command and Conquer Red Alert 2. It is running slow!
thanks.0 -
the highest memory user is firefox, but thats only 80,000-90,000K
all i have open right now is firefox 0 -
You have a lot of processes running - you can use Ccleaner/tools/startup to disable progs from starting automatically- I'd disable everything in the list except antivirus, wireless and firewall , if present. You can always enable them again or, better, just start when needed.
Can you post your pc or motherboard model as you may be able to use a dual core cpu (socket 775) which could be 5 times faster than your cpu and cost less than £50 used.
edit -I have 41 processes running right now.0 -
Not memory, but CPU usage. Maybe it's the Snipping Tool.

IT seems to be quicker again after a reset...my guess is that as my computer is on most of the day with different things open it picks up crap as it goes along (figuratively of course) and gets clogged up with all these processes'0 -
So which program was maxing out your CPU? If you click on Processes, then CPU the culprit should be at the top of the list.
AVG Removal Tool
AVAST 50
