Hi guys,
I currently use a HP slimline pavilion something or other with:
2gb RAM
Intel(R) Celeron(R) D CPU 3.46GHz 3.47GHz
150gb HD
Intel (R) 82945G Express Chipset
I don't play games on the PC, just work on it alot and watch films etc and the setup at the moment is just getting too slow and can't handle all the tabs and apps open at once, can anyone suggest anything that should do the job that won't break the bank too much?
Also i recently got windows 7 so id be putting that onto whichever system i bought
many thanks
edit i mentioned this deal on another as i saw quad core and thought it looked good for the money but i was told to stay away from it.

Your spec is good enough.
Download, install, update and run a Quick Scan with Malwarebytes' AntiMalware. When complete, choose 'Remove Selected' if there is anything to remove and Reboot your computer.
After restart, open the program again and go to 'Logs'. Double click on the log produced for today and post the contents here.
Next, download, install and run the HijackThis Version 2.0.3 installer and use the Quick Start guide to enable you to produce a log for posting here too.0 -
I always build my own with the best parts I can find for as little money as possible on ebay. If you have a techie friend or know a good computer shop who could help, that might be a good way forward. Look at some specifications of pre-built systems and see if you can source the parts second hand on ebay.
Good luck anyhow

Other a clean or Factory Restore Install should bring it back to optimal perfomance.0

What's wrong with the ebay system? £205 and 1mins to go. Don't look bad. As posted yours should be upto your needs.0

probably as Donnie has said if OP has recently got windows 7 a clean install should bring it all back up to speed without having to spend any further money
quick edit just a quick look on your system i would say AVG isnt helping things, the current (generally accepted) top 3 anti virus programs are Avira, Avast or microsoft security essentialsDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Well that athlon cpu scores higher than i5 670, a £190 cpu, according to this http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
Of course it's not latest tech, but so what?0 -
When did you install Windows 7? Did you run a clean install or an upgrade?
Strange, as I use a similarly specified machine. Am not experiencing similar problems. You have 512MB more RAM, but I have added a 512MB RAM graphics card.0 -
I installed windows 7 about 4 days ago, before that i was on vista and the performance was dire. 7 has helped things abit but they still arent as nippy as i would like.
This always seems to be my problem:
EDIT: and i did a clean install of windows 7 as opposed to an upgrade0
