Visiting London...no debt to be incurred

Morning all DFWs,

I hope you dont mind me posting here, as I am normally just a lurker on this board.

I am thinking of taking my hubby to London for his birthday at the start of December. Reason I am thinking about London is that it is a special place for us.

I may be able to get the hotel by using our JAL airmiles, but I need to look into that further.

We have done a fair bit of sightseeing in London already but it would be good to do some of it again.

Any tips on where to find good prices for attractions etc. We will probably go by train as its only about 40min journey. Will need to look at the cheapest day we can go.

Any tips would be gratefully appreciated

:T

If you look at the Travelodge site, they have rooms available from £26 per night if you book far enough in advance and are not too pickly about which hotel you stay in. They are just the standard Travelodge rooms so they're clean and presentable, but nothing flash.

check out the website for the train company you are using. Some of the train companies do 2 for 1 vouchers for attractions, when you show your train tickets.

We have used these offers several times and they seem to keep reappearing. Have visited, tower of london, tower bridge, london acquarium and more.

Plus, don't forget the museums and art galleries (if you are interested in that kind of thing) as many are free. ;)

  • If you have Tesco vouchers, convert to days out at 4 to 1 and look at the following inner London attractions

  • There's a great little pizza place in Shepherds Bush, west London on the central line, called Renezzio's. You can get a pizza or pasta with salad and a garlic bread starter for £6 and it's a lovely little place. All the pizzas are prepared from scratch so I can definitely recommend this.
