Vouchers for London days out?

Options
Hi all,

I am going to London with 3 friends - we're hoping you kind folks can direct us to vouchers for:

- Discounted meals at reastaurants
- Discounted London Dungeon
- Discounted Planetarium or Madame Tussauds
- Discounted IMAX

241 or any % off is fine - and of course FREE is preferable!

We're just looking to do the trip on a shoestring - we're only paying £6 return on MegaBus - so you get the idea! :p:D

Thanks for any help you can provide :T

  • If you fancy the london eye...you can buy a ticket online and combine with another offer - http://www.londoneye.com/product_content.aspx?id=22&sec=pyv
eg Combined ticket prices for eye & Madam Tussauds. Adult £29.99 save 5.00
Price includes fast track entry into Madame Tussauds but excludes entry in Chamber Live

if you're coming before end Sept 2 for 1 on admission to The London Dungeon

    Restaurant deals:

Wagamama's - sign up as member and print off vouchers - they change every week
    http://www.wagamama.com/

Haven't seen discounts for IMAX - they don't even do Orange Wednesdays

If you fancy cheap theatre tickets but don't mind too much what you see try the ticket office in Leicester Square (there's one at Canary Wharf as well) they have been selling them recently, but you have to go on the day and buy tickets for that day. You can check in the morning to see what tickets they are going to see

Nearer the time you can check this site for specific things going on, there's ususally something a bit different you can find to do.

For more inspiration - and some offers

If you're going to be using tubes/buses get yourself an Oyster card, it's cheaper than paying individudal fares. It also gives you access to some offers (2-1 on London eye)

and if that's no good..lots of free suggestions

  • Thanks ever so much - I will take a look at those - the Oyster card sounds interesting and I think we're lucky enough to get free tickets to London Dungeon as a friend of a friend works there...

    Any other ideas gratefully received!

  • not sure when you're coming up... these seem to run out end Sept

for most of them you will need a valid overground train ticket - just buy the cheapest one you can (couple of quid) and the saving will more than cover what you spend.

If you're coming on a Friday or Saturday you could always go to Borough Farmers Market for lunch, it's down by London Bridge Station. They have an amazing selection of food which is great just to look at, and lots of the stalls sell snacks - so if you want to try an ostrich burger it's the place to go. It does get busy as all the local workers pop down for lunch, but that just adds to the fun. And if you fancied more to eat there is a Wagamamas & Nandos round the corner or a pub on the river front. There is also a lovely Fish restaurant, but not the cheapest place to eat.
  • We have just had 5 days in London and I printed off loads of discount vouchers from the london 2 for 1 website. The condition is to have a train ticket but we used several vouchers and were never asked for them.

We used them on river cruise (great) Churchills war rooms and Tussauds and there are many more.

For cheap day by all day rover ticket on trains and go and play on DLR railway - visit Greenwich (free for observatory and museums) and canary wharf.

Also go and watch the street entertainers at Covdent Garden - great entertainment for free (well a few quid for the artists)
  • Thanks everyone - some fab ideas and I'm very excited about next weekend! Have e-mailed my friends with these tips and we now have a week to go - thanks!

dont forget the TGI fridays offers, theres some pretty good stuff on thier lunch menu for a fiver ( beats a boots meal deal anyways!)

grab a copy of time out when you arrive its got all the listings for free festivals, museums and galleries the best couple of quid youll ever spend in london. An A-z is also very useful, wortha fiver of anyones money.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Thanks Lynzpower - looks like we're nearly sorted, just a few days to go now! Our friend in London has an intinerary put together - looking forward to it! x
