Did anyone else find it amusing that the company boss dialled 999 and almost cried like a girl to the police when confronted by the film crew? "There's a man turning violent!" when Matt Allwright simply walked alongside him, speaking calmly and not even touching him...
Just shows these people for the cowards that they are. It's a good ploy for their future victims, though.. "Help, police! A man has just deliberately damaged my car and is refusing to leave and is threatening me! He's much bigger than me and he's holding a weapon - some kind of chain - and becoming very aggressive! There's going to be a major breach of the peace...". Will that work, you think? Can't see them saying "it's a civil matter" then...0 -
If i was the lady in the car i would have rammed and pushed his van out of the way then moved car onto road where all he can do is call the police, Ooops officer my foot slipped, And the repairs would have been less than the clamping charge
same but im bigger than him
and wouldnt of stood for that crap..
"i was pulling out from a parking space officer when this nice chap in the beaten up escrot van came at me like a nutter possessed"Sealed pot challenger # 10

The Police should be round to LBS tomorrow - the film was enough evidence of an arrest under the Theft Act and Proceeds of Crime Act.Even more irritating that that researcher didn't call the police and show them the tape of that chap illegally detaining her, demanding money with menaces and extorting her.. Maybe none of that is illegal but god, I can't believe these blokes are allowed to carry on
Blackmail IS a criminal offence and others like them have been prosecuted; it was mentioned in the program.
The wisest thing to do; if you should be unfortunate enough to be blackmailed in this way is simply to CALL THE POLICE.
Treat them like the crooks they are
If it moves; sue it!0 -
The likeliest answer you will get is "Sorry Sir, Nothing to do with us, its a Civil Matter" The law and Justice are poles apart here.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I like how he didn't have anything to say about it. That'll be a nice day for him to remember and tell the kids and grand kids about. I wonder if they left him the big bunch of keys to go through that Matt was holding earlier in the shot?0

Watchdog is lightweight tat.
But good to see the clamping guy get some sort of comeuppance. What a tool.0 -
Dear me, I just watched it on iplayer as I missed a few minutes at the end of the researcher.. OMG! They PAID!?! Nice to see the BBC using our licence fee to line the pockets of a bunch of dodgy wheel clampers.. Great.0
