Quite irritating how Watchdog don't really point out what to do if you fall victim of this very well; i.e. Visa chargebacks and ignoring PPC invoices...

Even more irritating that that researcher didn't call the police and show them the tape of that chap illegally detaining her, demanding money with menaces and extorting her.. Maybe none of that is illegal but god, I can't believe these blokes are allowed to carry on.. Also, did you notice the SIA ID on his arm? nicking him for having a fake one of those would have been good to start with..

    What a bunch of scumbags..

I see McDonalds parking charges were also featured again. Why don't Watchdog replay the advice from their lawyer again as info as to what to do if you receive a parking invoice?

The Police should be round to LBS tomorrow - the film was enough evidence of an arrest under the Theft Act and Proceeds of Crime Act.

I thought both items were covered extremely poorly by Watchdog, mainly because they seem to think that Matt Alright is some sort of comedy genius!

The clamping one ended with them reading a statement from LBS that said the researcher had been "illegally parked" and they didn't bother to challenge the use of that word.

The McDonalds item included Anne Robinson using the word "penalty" and the statement from McDonalds said that they would get the parking comany to review the appeals procedure. Again totally missing the point and, as above, they should have replayed the paper aeroplane video.

If i was the lady in the car i would have rammed and pushed his van out of the way then moved car onto road where all he can do is call the police, Ooops officer my foot slipped, And the repairs would have been less than the clamping charge

I got the impression that Watchdog had planned and possibly filmed that whole piece BEFORE the Government announced the planned clamping ban. Then obviously had to use it anyway.

They should have exposed this issue years ago instead of the usual lightweight pieces. And they certainly should have covered what to do about it if you are clamped, they had paid for their legal expert to comment so why not get his opinion on cutting the padlock as a justifiable remedy?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
