  • i had £3.23 for the sale of my vouchers on ebay...

from that i used £1. to subscribe to computer shopper mag (3 issues for £1 ) plus a free gift of a 26 pce tool kit.
.....and will have £8. cashback via quidco....

even though i have not had the cash yet..i have still added it to my total...

so now i am up to £10.23

just one question.....hope someone can help me out here..

i noticed there were a few maga subscription cashbacks with quidco.... you know 3 issues for a £1. and the cancel after the 3rd mag.... but they are all with the same pulishers....does this make a diff to how many you can subscribe if not this could bump up peeps total quite a bit

but obviously...the total will be on paper until the actual cash is paid.....

    hope that made sense.....

want to try all the easy options to get my total up first....

  • This is a fantastic idea. Good luck everyone. I'll be doing this from Oz where we don't have Pigsback and matching betting, not that I know of anyway.

I have initial starting money as I was given 6 chickens a little while back. I take the eggs to work and staff insist on paying me. (I would prefer to gift them and spread the luv but 2 people wanted to pay and would not take no for an answer.) I've kept the money to pay for feed. I have a dozen eggs to take to work today so will get $5 which is over and above the cost of feed so that is my starting money which I will then take to the op shop.

This is fun and a great opportunity to make some cash before Christmas.

Thank you to MSE contributers who are a great help to keep me motivated to take care with my spending.

Welcome aboard Frugal Aussie....I love that chicken story....what a shame we haven't got any chickens rambling about here!

Ref the matched betting - I know Betfair have just got an Australian gambling licence - don't know details but check their website as you might be able to take advantage.

If your freebies aren't doing too well on e-bay here's an "online car boot sale" (not an auction) where you get a "pitch" & can list up to 25 items for up to 90 days FOR FREE!!!!

    http://ibootsale.co.uk

I've just set up a pitch myself (haven't sold anything yet but early days), though not with my weekend freebies, as most are unsuitable to posting, so it's the local free-ads paper/newsagents' windows for them.

E-bay will always be good for a quick turn-around on goods, though I don't know if there's anything to stop someone offering the same goods on other sites at the same time, as long as it's made clear it's being advertised elsewhere & could be withdrawn from sale.

Hope this info is of some use to a fellow challenger!
  • Hi, I would like to know more about the online boot sale, has anybody actually used it? and what happens to your items if they dont get sold? you dont lose them do you? if anybody has used this, could you please post and let people know how it all happens etc. thankyou :cool2:

I have just registered on ibootsale.co.uk as I figure its worth a try and as it's free, there are no listing costs and final value fees like in ebay. Makes it worthwhile to list items which may or may not sell, with no risk or losing anything if they don't sell. HOWEVER, I have not stumbled upon any other ibooter who has actually sold anything yet...!

Not sure if it has been mentioned but astrobingo.co.uk also do a free £5. They have complicated cash withdrawal rules but i guess if you win big, you can get your money out....I won a couple of pounds but then lost it all :(
  • OK. Sold a few bits and pieces on ebay now. Raised around £10.50 after paypal and ebay fees, etc. Nobody bought my air guitar:cry: I did see a listing for a daddy long legs that had 5 bids, 101 questions and went for £5.51:rolleyes2

Need to look for some other ways to raise cash now though. Signed up to Quidco, RPoints and pigsback so I will look at signing up to things that pay good amounts (the magazine subs for a pound are looking good at the moment).

When I've raised a bit more then I will look at matched betting.
