FF, have you got your head around how the matched betting works? To help with your decision I mean. I can see your dilema! I would say, though, that matched betting does only take advantage of intro offers (there'd be no money to be made otherwise) and, when done correctly, there is no risk involved. No particular outcome is required for you to profit. On that basis I have satisfied myself that I am not risking my money, but am not coming at it from the quaker point of view as you are.
If you are worried about inadvertantly supporting gambling businesses by doing it... i might have to agree!

Bingo really IS gambling.Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0 -

It does work.
It took me about 10 minutes of trying this time. The foot cream last month only took around 3 tries.
The worst one for me was the hair shine stuff a month or two ago. Tried loads, and nothing. Asked my DD to have a go while I made a brew, she won straight away.
Trust me, if you want to win one, keep tryingIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Ummm - but I haven't put my own money in - just took advantage of the Sun / Notw free £5 promotion - hence I haven't GIVEN them any of my money, so have not helped them profit in any way.... just taken money from them, :j and now have nothing left to play with - so won't be doing any more!! :A
Matched betting is a little trickier. Its 'not' gambling in the sense that it is taking advantage of the introductory offers - however this would require some investment on my part - and should I be giving money to organisations such as that?? Off to search Quaker faith & practice and see if 'any light' is shed for me.....

Do you have to re-enter all of your details EVERY time????"A simple life freely chosen is a source of strength. Do not be pursuaded into buying what you do not need or cannot afford." Quaker Faith & Practice 1.02.410 -

I only have to re-enter the first time I press back, after that all my details are still there.
I just press back, then submit until I win :jIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Okay - no essay here and feel free to skip....
Having been unable to reach a decision over matched betting I thought I'd consult 'Faith & Practice' - having never let me down before!!!
Firstly I read:
20.42
Friends, whatever ye are addicted to, the tempter will come in that thing; and when he can trouble you, then he gets advantage over you, and then you are gone. Stand still in that which is pure,... . Stand still in that which shows and discovers; and then doth strength immediately come.
George Fox, 1652
Which I took to be - yes you can be tempted, but to stand steadfast in your beliefs and you will get an inner strength, which I took to be okay to match bet as the original aim is not to bet but to withdraw the 'free' money by 'the system', and I would be strong enough to do this. However I then read:
20.57
We believe that, as Quakers, we should put our whole lives under the guidance of the Spirit. This should determine our choices as individuals and as a Society between saving and spending and the way in which savings are invested. We are led to choose investments that benefit the community at large and not just ourselves and our families or small groups; to be strictly honest and truthful; and to refuse to deal in products or services which are hurtful to individuals or to society as a whole. We should only invest in accordance with our principles.
Young Friends Central Committee, 1980
So thats a no then!!!
I can't do it - I can't put my money into the hands of those who seek to profit from gambling. If I ever find another loop hole - like the NOTW and FHM which required NO FUNDS from me, then yes I would - but I can't hand over my money - even to then withdraw it...
Off to the drawing board then!!"A simple life freely chosen is a source of strength. Do not be pursuaded into buying what you do not need or cannot afford." Quaker Faith & Practice 1.02.410 -
OK, I'm nearly on board. I found an unwanted Christmas present of a box of scented candles and also a book of vouchers for pregnancy treats from Boots parenting club so I've put both on eBay. Providing they get more than £1 between them I'm in the challenge :TDebt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24
