Any ideas on how to get your first pound then?

Hiya! Can I join in?
This morning I got a statement from a little-used bank account showing me I'd accrued a massive £1.01 in interest. I've taken it as a sign from the gods that they want me to have a crack at this challenge.
Plus got given some old car boot stuff to get rid of at the weekend, not much good stuff but enough to make a few quid to get started.0 -
I'm getting nowhere fast, seem to be doing everything and accomplishing nothing.
However got the best part of three weeks off and definetly going charity shop hunting with my £20 in my sweaty little palm tomorrow.
However two amazing - although small - freebies this weekend, sons bike pedal crank came off, took it to bike shop, he usually takes a day and costs a fiver, did there and then for freeThe needle for the football pump was sort of bent, local sports shop usually sell them for 95p, none on display so he gave us one from store room for free.:T
I know this doesn't count but that's £6 better off, and don't these things come in three's ?The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

jpet you are not supposed to carboot freecycle items.
The idea is people give them to you for free for your own personal use. This is very much against the ethos and karma of freecylce.
Good challenge though Emily, too chicken to have a go myself.

OK, I've been reading this thread with interest and have decided to give it a go myself- you're a persuasive bunch! Now I am off to find my first £1 and will confirm when I've managed to do that.Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

Does it count if you buy something and get a free gift with it, and you sell the free gift? Or not, because in a way you've had to pay for the free gift? I've sold a few things that I've recieved on ebay, and so far made about £30, so doing ok. My OH said I could have his car radio that he no longer needed, and I was gonna ebay that, but he's sold it at work now, so not mine, lol.0
