Can I make £1,024 in 11 weeks from nothing?

In my 7 years of ebay trading I have never had a problem - with ebay or with Paypal once they came on the block. However in the last 2 weeks:
- One buyer bid for 2 items, claimed she had posted postal orders, then claimed she had made bank treansfers, but had not. No comms since and she obviously expected me to post them on faith. She has another 24 hours but I am pretty sure I will have to relist those vouchers and add negative feedback for the first time ever.
- The other buyer paid £10 via Paypal for a £10 Argos voucher, e-mailed me to ask if I could post it out as it was for sometone's birthday present, as she had already paid I did post the item and then yesterday Paypal advised it has been debited from my account.
So I am nearly £20 short for trusting people. In future am I supposed to wait 48 hours after Paypal payment, or could this still happen to me?MFW #185

one of the points was to not bet on tennis matches because of differing rules between sites: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=651
Horse racing and tennis are the two sports warned against for newbies because of differing rules.
Sorry to hear that rachelja - be positive and think you'll soon make it up elsewhere.......good luck!0 -
finallydebtfree!! wrote:bangramonkey, so if you send recorded and they buyer does chargeback you can claim then? or is it just that they are unlikely to claim their money back because they know that you will know they have recieved the item?
i'm really not an expert on the matter so please don't take anything i say to be 100% correct. if you send via recorded delivery then you can give proof to paypal that the buyer definitely received the item.
like i said before... check out the rbay forum on rpoints and post any queries you have there. there are two members (guyuk and nina_c79) who really do seem to be experts on the subject.
i'll try to find some related posts and link to them on here for youA Monkey is for life, not just for Xmas!

Go through the NPB process first then when that is complete relist from the original auction and if the item sells you get your second set of basic listing fees back. Also, if you go through the NPB dispute (and never ever do a mutual) *and* the buyer does not respond then you can leave them feedback but they cannot leave any for you!EagerLearner wrote:- The other buyer paid £10 via Paypal for a £10 Argos voucher, e-mailed me to ask if I could post it out as it was for sometone's birthday present, as she had already paid I did post the item and then yesterday Paypal advised it has been debited from my account.

A claim for fraudulent use can be made for months, in fact as long as the credit card company allows. I would suggest that you attempt to contact your fraudulent buyer, ask on the ebay forum for tips, as sometimes they do leave a trail that you can follow. Letting them know that you consider this a police matter and will persue it *might* do some good.

Popped my matched betting cherry at last! Made £18.39 overall from Coral - wish I'd had enough to do the £50 free bet offer but had to do the Talksport one instead (deposit £10 with TALKSPORT code & get free £20 bet).
Also sold another carboot freebie book on GreenMetropolis so that's another £3 in the kitty.
After a slow week it's a relief to get moving in the right direction again.
Get well, soon, Emily - we couldn't do for long without your creative genius on this board!0 -

I found the newer thread for newbies with the screenshot examples very helpful. Basically, just follow the instructions to the letter & you'll get there, even if you don't completely get how it all works, once you see it in action the penny starts to drop.0
