I've worked out that the photo of our area was taken on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in September sometime before 2001.

I've worked this out by noting the fields are full of baled corn, the local factory's (now demolished) car park is empty of cars, the shadows are long and in the right direction for a setting sun and the tree we had removed in 2001 is still there and the conservatory it replaced is not. LOL

  • Finally sussed it out and found the aerial button. We have lived in our house 6 years and the skylight in the roof that was here when we movedin is not on the picture so our shot is at least 8 years old and more because it had been in a while when we brought the house. Goggle earth is better for us.

  • I think those satellite images are old, or maybe some areas just haven't been updated in some time.

I checked where I live and the pic is about 6 years out of date lol. :)
  • I just checked mine and worked out that the images on Google are far more up to date as a building that is flattened on the google image is still there on Live Local. Also my Tesco Extra in Fforestfach (Swansea) is missing. The old Tesco is still in the Live local pictures. The only benefit I see is that this covers all areas whereas Google earth still hasn't reached my little village west of Swansea.
  • I pressed thanks as I know there are a lot of ignorant people on here that just take without saying thanks.
