Congrats on not using those pesky cards youve done well, Good luck with paying off your cards. I would like to be in that position too it would be great to get a bill at the end of the month and know that you can pay it off in full roll on DFD !!!!!Official DFW nerd 206 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Just dont cut them up too small of you wont be able to make head nor tail of the figures if you need them for those BTs! Going to keep going as I am for 6 months and then see what other lifetime BT offers I can find to get rid of the card with the highest interest rate.......time to start closing accounts! YEEHA!!!!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

I saw the light in March this year and since then, I've been plugging away at my debt. I am proud to say that I use 2 credit cards and pay them both off in full every month :j I've learnt my lesson and there is no way I am going back to how things were
but I am determined to have something back if I can and cashback is a great way of doing it!
I record most things in my spending diary and check my banking online pretty much everyday so I am very much in control of the situation and loving feeling this wayLeason learnt :beer:0 -
I havent used one in about 2 months ive been trying to spend cash only and thats really hard when you've been living on them
They've actually been frozen in a container full of water in the freezer for about a year but ive lost count of how many times ive put the kettle on to defrost them because ive needed them, not anymore though :rotfl:Debt Free Nerd 1700 -
Last Saturday night when I bought fish and chips for dinner then left the d@mn credit card at the shop!! Full blown panic when I discovered it missing on Monday and then had to wait till Tuesday to contact the F&C shop to see if I'd left it there!!
Our mortgage is the sort that you are best to use CC to pay for everything then only one lump sum comes out monthly, meaning more money in account for longer and less interest paid.
Have to be very, very strict with it, but we have always paid full amount monthly anyways. If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
I have a Sainsburys one that I use for Nectar points - I just use it whenever I have to i.e. paying for home insurance online etc. That gets paid off every month in full.
Unfortunately though I also got a 0% balance transfer Tesco card a couple of months ago *with* 0% on purchases till March 2007. I did a BT from another old 0% card.
But I have fallen off the wagon and used it this month. I had a full on shopping spree too.
Not gonna gripe about it though, I have a plan to get it all paid off by February 2007 before the interest kicks in and I will be taking the scissors to it when I finish this post too to make sure I don't add even more.
When that CC balance is gone, I will then only have the Sainsbury one which I hope I will literally only use once in a blue moon for the odd thing like the insurance or concert tickets if I *know* I can pay for them the month later.
I have found now that by keeping a credit card with an interest rate, I have to pay it off every month as I refuse to pay a penny in interest, and that keeps my balance as low as possible.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

I use my Tesco CC on a weekly basis to pay for petrol and for stuff off t'internet. On returning home, I transfer money from my current account into said card asap.
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
I still use my credit card and I use it quite regularly but only for work expenses and then I pay it off in full when my expenses come through. I'm waiting on £340 at the moment!Debt Free Nerd No. 89, LBM: April 2006, Debt at highest (Sept 05): £40,939.96
