I was wondering when you last used a credit card? until my lightbulb moment i used mine on a daily basis but since the begining of June i havent used any ( I had about 8 cards at that time!)
Its been 17 weeks since I used one and it feels really good to know that my debt is finally going down and not spiralling upwards out of control. The fact that I can only use cash also reduces the amount of money im actually spending and its actually a good feeling!!! I dont feeling guilty now about buying things.
Anyway just thought id share that with you and see what you thought.

8 years for me - I've even paid the blasted thing off now! The only time I've missed it was when I needed to hire a car in an emergency and because I didn't have a credit card, there were endless checks before I was handed the keys.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0 -
I try not to use credit cards - and only use those that I get cash back with or points (Tescos). I mainly use a cash back debit visa card. Sometimes its a good thing to use Credit Card, warranty wise, so long as its paid off every month. A few years ago, my daughter ordered tickets for a concert, luckily she paid with visa - the firm she had been paying went bust. She got every penny back.0

Thank you, HJ. You'll get there if you plug away at it. I wish this site had been around at the outset of my debt free journey as I felt very alone and ashamed.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
