buyer refusing to pay by paypal

OH (I kow i know! i should ban him from ebay!)
Has sold an item on ebay - low cost - buyer bidded, then demanded to pick it up - it's a small computer game (I personally dont like people collecting from the house and only offer this if it is a large item and something we can not post)
Anyway - buyer has sent a few messages to our "paypal only" ncluding:
I DRIVE PAST YOUR PLACE QUITE OFTEN
and
YOU FEEDBACK IS TAKING A BIT OF A BASHING LATELY AND DONT WANT TO SEE IT GET WORSE
After OH put that if he didnt pay by paypal we was opening a dispute we recieved this reply:
FIRSTLY DONT TRY TO BLUFF A BLUFFER.
SECONDLY YOUR LISTING DOES NOT STATE NO COLLECTION ON THIS ITEM.
FINALLY I HAVE OFFERED TO PAY, IT IS YOU WHO REFUSES TO ACCEPT PAYMENT
(he mean refuses cash on collection)
OH has sent this back:
The listing states "Paypal - posted within 4 business days" You have entered a contract by bidding on the item, if you had no intention of paying by paypal you should not have bidded.
The payment method is paypal - I am opening a dispute tomorrow when I am allowed to by paypal.
Regards
Anything else we should do?

I really don't see what is wrong with letting someone call and collect paying cash in hand. No hassle, job done, what did people do before ebay?0
-
simply because if we had wanted people banging on the door we wouldnt of put paypal only ?
(and before ebay - there was car boots, no people at the door)

He sounds a bit scarey to me0

OK I see your point, perhaps accept a cheque/PO by way of a compromise?0

If you don't accept collections, you don't accept collections. If he doesn't pay by paypal, you can do a NPB strike against him. Any feedback he leaves can be removed if he doesn't pay you. If he does pay by paypal, be prepared to take the neg. Don't sweat it too much, though, as you can reply to it.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Why? The seller has clearly stated paypal only. If he wanted to pay by some other method, he should have contacted the seller before bidding. Besides, I doubt this is about how he pays. I'd say the buyer thought he could get the item cheap and save on shipping without even bothering to ask the seller. Now the buyer is trying to bully the seller into allowing him to pick up (thus saving on shipping costs).
OP, remember to add this buyer to your block bidders' list. Could you pm me his id so I can block him too, please? In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

thanks for your reply steviebabes - but he refuses to pay by any other means than cash on collection
Hethmar - my thoughts exactly
MyUserNamesTaken - OH is expecting a neg - Luckily we both have ebay accounts (mines only got 1 neutral) so not too bothered tbh0 -

I personally (as long as your listing details do not contradict this) say
I am sorry, but our listing does not state that we allow cash on collection, or collection at all. We post all our items, as we work different hours, and cannot guarentee when we are at home. Had you asked prior to purchasing we would have explained this for you.
The listing that you purchased clearly states the price including postage, You can pay by either paypal, or cheque / postal order. Please confirm if you are happy to proceed with this.
I would then block them from making further purchases. Do not get into a discussion about feedback. If they leave a negative you can leave a factual follow-up. IF they do also pay by paypal I would send recorded, just in case it does not arrive.
I do not think they would agree to a mutual cancellation (as they sound as if they would disagree just to be arsy), so I would not go for this - it is your choice whether you file unpaid to reclaim your fees back, which will leave an unpaid strike on their account, ..but then you will probably get your neg.0 -
i dont know how to block people
