You people need to slow down and smell the coffee roasting in your hotel rooms! :) This picture's description says "This active volcano can be seen from the back side of the Irazu Volcano in Costa Rica (shutterstock photo 28522324).

The volcano in the photo is therefore not Irazu, it is Turrialba. Witness this match on flickr (betobeto/2379416332):

And I found info on it being recently active at costaricapages dot com that it erupted with Poas on 09/14/2010.

My vote: Turrialba Volcano National Park, Costa Rica (there is not enough room in the form for inserting the name of the province, Cartago, so you will have to leave it out)

yea, i can see where you are coming from but im sticking to my guns based on todays clues.

todays clue is ''you can see two oceans from the summit.''

heres a link saying you can see two oceans from the top of irazu

JonDG, you'd better slow down too! It is unlikely that the small volcano in the distance is actually the subject of the photo - there is a vast, empty cloud space that has yet to be filled with the true subject, and Day 2 starts to fill it in. See post #116, where the foreground is identified as the edge of the Irazu crater. Day 2 also shows us more of this foreground: the far edge of the crater (from same photo) is sliding up from behind. Tomorrow, it'll slide up even more and cover much of the cloud space. You may even see the green lagoon within.

    Irazu Volcano, Cartago, Costa Rica

Based on todays clue I think you are right. :)

I think I over analysed it based on the last 2 weeks being a bit more difficult. :o

    Well Done alo6 :T:T

I have gone with tacotaco's suggested answer of Irazu Volcano, Cartago, Costa Rica. :D

Day 2 clue - see two oceans from the summit

I don't want to put a spanner in the works but my opinion is this:

The picture submitted by alo6 is the right picture but states 'This active volcano can be seen from the back side of the Irazu Volcano in Costa Rica' (which I went for yesterday)
    http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-28522324/stock-photo-this-active-volcano-can-be-seen-from-the-back-side-of-the-irazu-volcano-in-costa-rica.html

the clue 1 - active both day & night - 'Almost every night the crater offers a spectacle of lights with its explosive eruptions' from this page when searching most active volcano in costa rica http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arenal_Volcano and it's Arenal Volcano, so that's what I'm going for today

    Arenal Volcano, Alajuela, Costa Rica

Thats where I was getting confused too cp. :)

I went for Arenal yesterday and Irazu today.

I still think its worthwhile submitting a different guess each day? :)

Bringing link over for cornishpasty https://challenge.priorityclub.com/

Day 3: Roughly 850,000 years old?

    Irazu it is,

"an age of at least 854,000 years" from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraz%C3%BA_Volcano

    Well done alo6 :T:T

Wish I'd gone with Irazu on the first day.... :)

    Good morning cp,

I was up early for a change so thought I'd make myself useful seeing as every day when I manage to log on at 12 you guys have already solved it. :D

So looks like it is Irazu, but do we need to include the national park?

Has anyone received any more of the winning points credited to their PC account yet?

I had 2000 credited on 28th September which was presumably for week 2 competition as I missed week 1. I have checked today and no other points have been credited.
