    I'M SO COLD!
And a tea pot, hopefully I can get a cheap second hand one so I don't have to move to get a cuppa!

Couldn't you make the tea and then put it into a thermos flask? Just pour yourself a cuppa from the flask without having to move? When I'm curled up on the sofa with a blanket and a cat that won't move for anything I find it handy to use from time to time.

I also have a travel mug. Very handy for me when I'm knitting and want a slurp of coffee to find it's gone cold!:( It's not the same as hugging a warm mug in your hands though.

I'm almost set for winter housewise - knitting hot water bottle covers and then I'm done, it's the food/supplies I need to sort out. It doesn't take much for shelves to empty and I hate shopping when it's manic/panic mode. I think I need to make a list, a long list....

I figure a tea pot is cheaper and fits more in than a good thermos :o
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

I love my teapot! And when I use a knitted teacosy, it stays hot.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

That's the exact knd of memories I would like my children to have of their childhood with us. Their snuggly beds with their pj's, slippers and dressing gown. Running down stairs huddling in the living room all warm eating our breakfast, wrapping up warm on our long walk to school, hot choc or horlicks before bed, snuggle up with hotwater bottle while mam or dad reads a story, sitting alltogether watching and talking about the TV under balnkets galore.. lets face it, should we have money to burn with the heating on 21 degrees constant there would be non of that - that's childhood!

Not so much the reading stories and stuff aspect of it but the "running downstairs because it's flipping freezing" is one of the things I remember promising my childhood self I would never do when I was an adult! There are loads of the hard bits of my childhood I can look back on with rose tinted specs but that is not one of them! :)
  • I WAS cold and going to put the heating on, but I have just had one of those mad bursts of energy and washed all the windows lol! Now i'm roasting hot, can see outside and saved on the heating bill - whoopie!!

ahah! you've stumbled upon another of my reasons for not jacking the heating up so high!

it's arleady started, the snuggling under blankies on the sofa together, we're doing our annual ritual right now of snuggling up and watching the X factor and laughing at (and begging them to stop) the really horrible ones and crying for those we're all happy for!

as the autumn progresses into winter we'll snuggle up for more shows and even when playing mario bros on the wii together... who said winter was all bad ;)

Thanks Crumblepie! When I looked at their measurements I wasn't sure which size to order but thanks to your response I will get an order placed today unless their stock disappears mean while! :j  :T

I placed an order for £86.00, got 30% discount code and free p&p (as spend was over £40), total bill was £60.20. :j I hope now it is all reasonable quality or I will have to pay to return the things! :rotfl:
  • I'm digging out my winter coat tonight! So hopefully the weather'll warm up in the next few days, knowing my luck ;) We've definitely noticed the chill at work though, and thankfully they've put the heating on although the radiator behind me doesn't seem to be working quite right. Ah, well. A brisk walk around the office and I'll be warm enough. :)

We've got two big candles at the front of the room, and both of them are lit this evening. There are 5 of the little blob things in the Galileo's Thermometer at the top, so it's cooler than it has been for ages. DH is under a blanket with a hot drink and is not himself. He doesn't suffer man-flu, so I'm a little worried. :s Bless him, I hope he feels better soon.

Watching BBC news and reporting Scotland had a clip of somebody ski-ing on the Cairngorms, lying snow already in September !!
