Awwww everyone thank you so much I am so overwhelmed!
I really appreciate your thoughts and prayers! (didnt mean to hijack the thread). My dad currently lives in a very very old cottage and is always saying about the cold and fuel prices so i think i shall make one of them fleece tied blankets for him. I have been re reading to see what other tips i can pass on, its harder for him though as he is in rented accommodation so is fairly limited. I think i really should learn to knit so i could give scarves, hats and gloves for pressies!
In regards to the waiting time, it is something i think we are all finding hard to come to terms with but our minds are put to ease with the thought that if and when a space opens up he will progress quicker up the waiting list (he is only 9th).
Thank you again, i really wasnt expecting that when i got up this morning and read all your support. It means so much (and Minnie if you're still around - goes to show why the trolls will never win - because folks like these far outweigh the badduns!)
:grouphug: (it says group hug and when i hover it says threesome so either i did it right or just really embarrassed myself!!)Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
In an effort to keep the CH off I did some baking today as the oven warms the kitchen and adjacent family room quite nicely.
Made 2 loaves of honey whole wheat bread (easy no knead recipe for white and whole wheat if anyone wants it). Bread has gotten very expensive here-- about 2-3 quid for a nice loaf. Plain white bread sandwich can be had for about 1 quid, but its not very tasty. Soft and squishy, but flavorless.
Also made 2 pumpkin pies for DH. Will probably send some over to the neighbor as well tomorrow. It will go well with the turkey breast I'm planning on roasting tomorrow.
Hope you gals won't kick me out of the MSE club because I used canned (tinned) pumpkin for the pie because I did not have a "pie" pumpkin to cook up:eek:
yes pleaseand don't worry, i use tinned Pumpkin too!!!

Yes we are!
Do you mean Primark? or Aldi? or Lidl? I asked hubby if he could uncode you and those were the 3 that we came up with. If so, those 3 stores are about 15-20 minutes from us (we are more towards the other military town) and i will be going that way the end of October as our vets is over that way (the best vet we have ever come across for our brood) so i can pop in and have a look, do you know how much?
(I try not to use the car at all unless we absolutely have to so bulk all my journeys together)
Thank you for the tip, if within budget i can get one for dad and his gfEverything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

ahh i mean the one near where all the officers study
there is a good store in the main shopping centre, near hmv, they are an independant and have the massive fleecy blankets for £20 for a double, but it's big enough for a kingsize bed imo and smaller ones too, the baby blanket ones are perfect for lapps and shouldersi'll double check today but they always have stock

Chirpychick, my very best wishes to your dad and all your family. The waiting will be the worst part - my sister had a brain tumour, was operated on and is now doing fine. (Finishes off my crosswords for me actually). That was two years ago, but the waiting was awful.Normal people worry me.0
