Next have an online sale at the moment 90 pages of ladies wear with some coats in the sale as well.

In the homewares section they have a good selection of reduced tab top curtains if you are interested.

I need a light weight waterproof jacket as I am finding my current outdoor jacket too warm at the moment, does anyone know where I could get a reasonably priced one?

dareb2 had some great bargains in their online sale a few days ago :)

I went to Dunelm today to buy curtains (for the new house) & came home with this too!

Soooo cosy & warm - bed striped, this down & nice clean bedding - can't wait for Downton Abbey & bed this evening! lol!

I've wanted a topper but saw them expensive & this is so snug & I've had a little lie down & it seems to have made a differece. Test will be this evening.
  • Rummer, try Regattaoutlet . co. uk. They have outdoor clothing with very reasonable prices.

Forecasters are warning of a very unsettled and chilly Autumn ahead. Stunning pictures but worth a read:-

  • Ask your parents about the heating they must have gone away before! Normally I leave mine to come on at 10c but it is flat so rarely gets that cold but depends on your home and external pipes etc.

I am single so most of time I have big batch cooks and then throw in oven from frozen things like sheperds pie take about 50m on 180c, you dont have to freeze whole meals you can say make up big sauce and then make fresh pasta in 10min. Or make up mash in portions then just throw some sausage under the grill that way its not making loads of pans every time.

I tend to get whole chickens cook and then freeze in small potions then take out the night before and then can just warm up say half a jar of curry sauce with, thats only because it puts me off seeing meals or squashed together.
  • the batches of mash/sauce/sausages sound like a plan to just throw together at the last minute.

They have gone away before but have a habit of leaving the rads on timer and overheat the house even when they're not in it! I'm trying to reduce waste and cut fuel bills for them. It's all very well now as we all work, but once they retire, I'm scared they're going to struggle, especially since I'm not going to be living with them forever, the only reason I do now is because it's convenient for all of us at the moment.

I have continued to try and de-smell house throughout the day except for a visit to friend for some (FREE) jerusalem artichoke plants (she very earthily calls them fartichokes but Im not sure if they are really that gassy???) I was going to but some so I feel very grateful to her for finding them for us in the village.

i've never eaten them but every account i've ever seen has mentioned they do tend to make people gassy so the nickname is apt (and quite amusing even if it is in a juvenile way :p)

a sticky is a thread that gets 'pinned' to the top of a forum so people are sure to see it

don't feel bad i don't give out too much info myself, i have a quite literally crazy mother out there who keeps trying to find me and she's violent so i try not to be too specific

that said i'm no longer in my 30's, self employed graphic designer, i home educate my daughter and we live in fife, i'm pretty sure i've mentioned all of those so far already ;)

Haven't done any winter prep today but my DH found my toilet roll, tissues and washing powder stash:eek: He sorted out some of his CD's/DVD's and decided to put them in a cupboard we'd emptied a few weeks ago.

He was a bit shocked at first until I pointed out how much I'd saved on the washing powder alone by buying it when HB had it in.
