I have finally had the front door/kitchen door ddraught proofed, ready for the winter winds, and we are now moving.! So no further action is going to happen here.
I have throws from ikea, 99p each. Pale baby blue, and some red ones that my mum donated in my direction. So we are using them.
I am going to use up the logs that we have left over from last year. Lit my first fire last night. Been naughtly and using the electric heaters/storage heaters for about a month! So I will be expecting a heafty electric bill. However the good news is that the house we are going to move into will have gas central heating installed!. It has double glazing already.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Here's another 'night owl' full of cold, and sick of looking at the ceiling listening to DH snoring! I just had to say thanks to all of those who advised fleecy pjs, two layer walking socks and ikea fleeces! Yes, I look a sight, but hey, I'm warm and I have some cold remedies in stock! Who's smug?:p
Thanks a lot everyone, there's a feeling of 'all in it together' isn't there? and yes, I remember Hayley Mills as Pollyanna, always wanted some of those pretty crystals...sad?
Oh! and I was silly enough to let the door slam today while putting the washing out. Fortunately I was wearing thermals so didn't get too cold and a lovely neighbour got me back in. Have back door boarded up now waiting for glass replacement:o
Life's not too bad is it?:T
Aw, hope you're better soon .... and get some sleep! I too have a cold, a slow-burning one but have everything I need which makes it a whole lot easier to cope with. Will keep my supplies topped up, you never know when you'll need throat lozenges! Am wearing about 100 layers and porridge warmed me up too so feel all set for the day.

All I remember from Pollyanna is The Glad Game ... not sure if I'd be able to play it if the boiler went kaput in freezing weather! :)
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

Thanks NualaBuala, same to you, keep taking the tablets!:D
I just remember Pollyanna watching the rainbows created by crystals on the old ladies lampshade and hanging them across the window where the sunshine caught them. Maybe we should all be trying to play the Glad game? I agree with you that it's very difficult at times though:)
