I might look into getting one, although if they're too expensive it might take me all winter to save up for one!
  • :jwell i am now stocked up on the food front:j
Have managed to get some curtains for the front and kitchen doors plus some blinds off freecycle for kitchen and bathroom. still need to sort a box sorted for the car, wash the summer duvets so they can go under sheets, get the fore mentioned blinds and curtains up and make door sausages out of a few pairs of the kids old leggings. I hope thats all I've got left to do, but sure I will find others :o

I cleared space in a cupboard and stocked it with longlife milk, rice, pasta, tuna, beans, oats and cereal and some tinned fruit today. Feeling pleased with myself. Oh and made a list of whats in there with the best before dates on.

Hi all Ive been lurking around for a while now and just love the ideals you all contribute. One thing I do and havn't seen suggested, is to put a fleece blanket directly over myself when I get into bed, its warm and comfortable and when I get too hot I just pull it out of the top of me. Its much warmer than putting the fleece on top of the duvet and it can be washed and dried quickly when you change the sheets. This way I'm snug and warm all the time but then I do sleep alone most of the time so a fleece blanket useful.:rotfl:
    Keep to £400 a month on C/C.

EDITED:removed link. grrrr! didn't notice that argos totally ignored the fact i was looking specifically for DEHUMIDIFIERS... looked again because i'd found one for just 20 quid a month or so ago but i can only find one for 50 now. sorry =(

that one is a reasonable price (normally around 50quid!) and has a lot of good reviews, on the upside it drys your clothes faster (if you dry them on an airer) so that will save you time too!

Is it a humidifier or de-humidifier I need? I guess my problem is caused by water, so wouldn't I need to get rid of it with a de-humidifier?!!

Decided to buy rather fetching leopard print beret today for winter - didn't have time to try it on though. When I did (at home luckily) realised I look rather like the character that Victoria Wood does (the one that says "Have you seen Kimberley?"). Alternatives make me look like Eastender's Pauline Fowler:rotfl:
Any suggestions for a "definitely not a hat type"? Although if it as cold as last year I don't care if I look like Benny from Crossroads!
  • MissMuppet its a dehumidifier you would need. Confuzzled linked to a cheap one the other week I'm sure, let me look.

yep, here it is, I'd bookmarked it

  • Finally finished getting all the curtains ready for this winter. Since last winter, we've put up four additional curtains around the house, all have been given two layers of fleece (instead of one), and the window ones have an additional foil blanket sewn in.

NEVER want to look at a curtain again...

it IS a DEhumidifier, i'd accidentally put a link to a humidifier because i didn't realise argos had jumbled them in with the DEhumidifier i was looking for for you! sorry if i confused you!

you might try looking on amazon they sometimes have good deals on things like that too, right now there arne't any bargains on them on argos though, cheapest i could find was the bog standard 50 quid
