We've had this stove for 2 years and it is the best and most efficient one we've ever had. We also have about 3ft of the stove pipe exposed and that gives off loads of heat too.
We love our stove:j
that's the way to do it! i'm jealous, i sooo want a stove like that!!!
i rather miss gathering bits of wood and such to make firestarters, kindling etc ...maybe someday *sighs*0 -
I was looking at the primani pj's yesterday, my 2 dd's love the fleece ones, im sure the kids pjs go up to abbout 13 yrs, theyve also started to do the fleece all ones (like a babygrow) in the bigger kids sizes, they only used to go up to about a 3 or 4 year old but got my eldset one in size 6-7 and they went into much larger sizes and they were £6 each. 2 dd's were well chuffed when i got then last week cos i refused to but the all in ones last year as i could only find them in Mothercare last year for nearly £20 each!!!!!! You could also try ladies size 6-8 depending on how tall she is x
ooh thanks for that i'll def have to take her then. thanks for the tip on the ladies sizes. i saw some glittery leggings really cheap awhile back and the smallest size they had was a size 6 ladies so i bought them as they were only a few quid delivered... anyway i tried them on her and whilst they were the right length (they were cropped for an adult so perfect full length for her) they actually were only a bit loose around the waist (she's about average body weight) i know they're meant to stretch but anything with an elasticated waist might work... i'll def keep this in mind now that you mention too, i thought i'd just gotten really lucky
i bet she'd love one of the zip up ones, i'll have a look out for them...wish i could get these goodies in my size but primark doesn't do large woman sizes0 -
I have bought some fleeces from AS*A - 2 for £3.00
They are almost a perfect fit for my curtains across the whole house. I have bought 4 red ones and 2 brown ones, so the living room, my bedroom and my sons room are all covered. I just need to get some purple (or close colour) for my daughters room now!
I can testify that they are quite snuggly as I fell asleep under one yesterday (after a very very late night Saturday!)
I can't find them on the website though, so I can't post a link”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

I know exactly what you are going thru Confuzzled, my 11 year old is 5ft 6" (she was 5ft at 9) and if she follows on growing the way she has been she will be knocking 6ft before she reaches maturity!
I am a lowly 5ft 3" so she already looks down on me! :rotfl:
If only I was skinny then we would share clothes - but I find myself resisting going back on the Cambridge diet as I got bored within the first 3 weeks last time!Donna

well i was 5'2" at 10 so it sounds like she's headed the way of your daughter! she's just turned 9 this week and she's already 4'10", i reckon she'll be taller than me (5' 7") by the age of 12 max... our other problem is that she's now wearing size 6 shoes  i really hope her feet slow down a lot, i wear a size 8 and it's horrible finding reasonably priced shoes that aren't mens shoes (good thing i'm not a fru fru girl!)...
she doesn't seem fussed by it thankfully but she's home educated so she doesn't see how much taller she is than most around her age nor does she get teased for it. thank goodness for small (or above average in this case) mercies eh?0 -
My daughter has been teased about her height but she doesn't get down about it - she sees it as a) just the way she is b) not a problem. She has always been the "lanky" one in class, but also the one who can run the fastest, jump the highest :j and get the most nets in netball - so she is quite happy.:T
When we went for the open evening at her High School last year - teachers weren't talking to her - thinking she was alreayd there, and directing their questions to her 7 year old sister (who is also tall and while not the tallest in her year a good head taller than the others in her class)
The only down side of them beind so small is the cost of clothes. They both grow like weeds and the big un is wearing womens size 6-8-10 clothes (depending on style and shop)Donna

We had our stove on last week and our daughter said 'You can tell when it's winter because we're sitting around in shorts and strappy tops!' Our stove throws out so much heat AND heats the rest of house (we leave the doors open for the heat to get around). We've had this stove for 2 years and it is the best and most efficient one we've ever had. We also have about 3ft of the stove pipe exposed and that gives off loads of heat too.

Hi, do you mind if I ask the make/model and output of your stove? Lots of discussion on the Woodburning Stoves thread on the LPG and heating forum, I'm not at all sure when I'll be able to afford to replace my Rayburn open fire with a stove that has doors, but all recommendations are welcome!0 -

If you mean all in one type fleecy pjs primark do them in the ladies section. Size 8-10, 12-14 and 16-18 not sure if they went any larger. I think they were £8, bargain and soooo warm and cozy.£387.39/£196.46

I've been lurking here for a while and have some great ideas for planning in advance of this winter...
I've managed to get a bit of a 'to do' list together, and am planning my emergency-can't leave the house-meal ideas so I can make sure I have the basics in
Not strictly immediately money-saving, but we've booked in for loft and cavity insulation in early November. Our house was like a permanent fridge last year and cost a fortune in heating, so hopefully this and our new roof will have some positive effect on our energy bills :money:If anybody has any experiences of this that they'd like to share, please feel free!

I'm now sleeping with a fleece blanket as well as the bed covers, do I care, nope! I'm warm as toast!
