Princess seem to be discounting but I suspect they are following the 2pax deals.

lookat the round britains they are starting at £899 or 12night
    http://www.princess.com/find/cruiseDetails.do?voyageCode=B326

£2,472.00 for 3 in an inside as abovet he may dates have come down to £499

Aug will still be school hols so not going to be easy to ind 3berth deals.

MSC,Costa might offer something and HAL might be an option but check the kids facilities.

Carnival are getting a lot of bad press so may hit pricing.

What's the budget target cabin type No of days etc.
Do you want to gambel on a late deal and miss out?
what about Xmas and easter hols or a 1/2 term as an alternative.

The only time DH will have with us for holidays this year is 11-25th Aug.

Not bothered cabin type, 7 nights or more, really want ex-uk depature though.

Are there sometimes late bargains for cruises during Aug? I know it will be trickier with 3.

At the moment Carnival (legend) win hands down on pricing with 12 nights from under £700 out of Dover but is slightly before our dates and can't be definite DH could have a few more days.

Interested in the princess around Britain cruise but it goes over our dates a little.

if you have specific dates then try Vacations to go custom search with dates and UK ports, London(all) newcastle, liverpool

    http://www.vacationstogo.com/custom.cfm

THat will give you a short list to look further but won't include some UK only things like Thomson.

you can widen the search for more port if you fancy flying

Think I should have gone for the Carnival cruise from Dover and got DH to get an extra 2 days off so we could go on 8th. Could have got a balcony cabin for the Russia 12 nighter for just under £2000, DH off today and looking at holidays so I say I could have got a cruise for the price of that hotel in Spain but when I check carnival now prices have shot up and an inside cabin now is £700 each.

Do you think prices are likely to drop again?

There US website is much cheaper works out on there £662 for a balcony cabin, anyway of booking on their us site from here?

Go via cruise compete, TA's compete to give you the best price and you get their better terms and conditions too.

I got this quote on cruise compete which seems to good to be true.

If I am reading it correctly, I could get $250 onboard credit plus 2 choices from the list, which includes classic drinks package for 2 - I make this $900 if I paid for it $45 per person per day

The cruise is the celebrity infinity Aug 16th 10 nights

Inside: $3,298.91 (Category 11; $1,099.64 average cost per passenger) Lowest Quote!
Outside: $3,838.91 (Category Y; $1,279.64 average cost per passenger)
Special offer: Offer comes with Free insurance or $250 onboard credit for your cabin.
Book by 4/30 and receive 2 of the following amenities (Limited time offer):
    -$300 onboard credit
    -Pre-paid gratuities for 2 passengers
-Free classic beverage package for 2
BBB A+ rated company. Rates include port charges & taxes. * Discounted SHORE EXCURSIONS! * Our agency does not charge fees. We will honor lower rates if they come available before final payment date.
    Call to hold space!!!!

They often give special offers like that. Also, if the prices drop before final payment you usually get the lower price. And you don't lose your deposit if you cancel up to that point either. We akways book via a US TA for that reason. Down side can the the exchange rate fluctuation, but we have never really had an issue with that.

Check out the agency ratings and see how long they have been on the CC site, and then go for it!!

They have been on there since 2003 and have over 700 positives, they also have a full website.

The beverage package and obc really tempts me, there would be very little spends needed other than possible excursions. Only reservation is whether DD 12 would enjoy Celebrity as much as Carnival or RCaribbean.

Anyway I have emailed some questions to the TA and will show to DH depending on her reply.

Thank you again for the website recommendation.

We originally had a Celebrity cruise booked for June, but due to family illness we had to cancel (as we had booked via a US TA we got the full deposit back the day after cancellation) but we have a 15 year old and it looked fine for him. That looks an interesting cruise.
