            do i need a pair?
i dont understand how blackcircles or mytyres works. i put in the search option, fully fitted but when i search for a fitting centre it comes up with the nearest one 15 miles away and the blurb for it says that its 9.60 to fit each tyre?
do the tyres get delivered in the post? i cant wait that long, i need to get that tyre off, i do motorway driving every day (apart from tomorrow so need to do it then)
If you need it that quickly then, yes, you are probably better going to KwikFit.
I only mentioned the online suppliers because they can usually supply good quality tyres at lower prices. Sometimes they are cheaper than the economy tyres at the likes of KwikFit. They can supply budget tyres too.
With Blackcircles you just put in your tyre size, then your choice of 'fitted' or 'non fitted'. If you say 'fitted' the price includes supply and fitting at a tyre depot local to you (you normally get a choice).
If I'm in a real hurry I get a price off Blackcircles and then pop down to my local place and ask them to match it. They always do.0

I decided to check the tyres I have on my car. The front passenger and both rear tyres are spider ceat 165/70/r14. The front drivers is a debica 165/65/r14.
 what does this mean?
It means you're breaking the law by driving a car with two different sized tyres on one axle.
Get it to a tyre fitters and get the drivers side one changed.
Continentals are good but a bit pricey. Kumho are a good mid-budget tyre.0

For longer than is necessary and/or in excess of 50MPH, yes.
50mph yes, that's the tyres speed rating! Longer than is necessary is the tyre makers warning... define "necessary"??
Doesn't change the fact that it's not illegal to drive with a space saver tyre fitted, a space saver being a vastly different size to the normal tyre (in most cases), does it?Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0

A word with your local Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA) office might be a good idea.
IIRC, space-saver spares have smaller diameter wheels, but higher aspect ratio tyres, so the overall diameter is the same. The space saving bit is that they are thinner.
PS. That's a point: have you checked the spare? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. 0 0

Yes, it is technically unlawful to drive with a space-saver type wheel fitted, and yes it is a reason for rejection come the MOT test if a different tyre size is fitted across an axle, indeed the MOT even lists as a special RfR:50mph yes, that's the tyres speed rating! Longer than is necessary is the tyre makers warning... define "necessary"??

"b. Special lightweight or space saving wheels and tyres fitted as road wheels "
However, realistically, if you are using a space-saver sensibly to drive for a repair......... You'd probably find you are uninsured driving with a space-saver fitted though.

In Spain it is illegal to have different tread patterns across an axle, just thought I would add that little gem.:)0

so should i get another ceat thing put on, by kwik fit? or go for continental, as our other car (my partners) is going to nissan tomorrow for new tyres, hes putting continental on his.
I wouldnt put Continental contacts on, my front wheel drive focus had them on from new, they done 13000 miles, the replacements were Firestones that did 30000 miles with no loss of grip0

2 things, support your local discount dealer as Anewman said, rather than a nationwide outfit.
2ndly and this is a question, aren't space saver tyres the same dia as the orig tyre? just narrower?
Oh and 3rdly to the poster than said you would be better off going to Kwarkfit, I suggest you tender your resignation to the forum:mad: I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button. I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
