and have already saved £12 (not counting the Nicorette Microtabs I bought a few weeks back, and only now am seriously starting to use!)
This will be the third time I have quit since I started smoking at the ripe old age of 19 back in 1987. I'm determined this will be the last time because I don't want to have to go through this again.
But I just keep thinking about the money I'm saving, and the fact that I may be suffering a little now (feeling fuzzy headed and shaky even with the Nicrorettes) but I have reduced my chances of suffering in the long term in a hospital bed!
Is there a stopping smoking support thread anywhere on the forums?

Hi there
I can't go past a fellow quitter without saying well done. Well done!
I'm four years down the line, smoked since 13, quit just before 40 and I'm still going strong. I don't call myself a non smoker because I'm so proud of my ex smoker status.
I look at the habit in a completely different way nowadays. I think it's truly filthy now, although I still LOVE the smell. I can't believe I ever smoked. It's my one true shame. I even smoked around my son, when pregnant, the lot. I just pray I got away with it:o
I wish you the very best of luck in your quit. I won't say it's dead easy but it's not as hard as I believed it would be. I've only ever quit one time and am thankful for that.
There used to be a quitters thread on the Wanabee threads but am not sure if it's still there.

Hi fletch,
Well done yourself! I quit for 4 years, from 2000 to 2004. I know how easy it is to fall back into the habit by making the excuses of stress, bad relationships etc. But the truth is the human body does not need nicotine. I admit that I enjoyed smoking, I liked the taste and the smell, and if it wasn't so bad for you and so expensive I would still be smoking. But I have come to my senses at last. I have so many plans for the money I'm saving :-) that's what's keeping me going.
Well my first week of being smoke free is over. I have even been to the pub several times this weekend and not smoked. £42 saved in one week and feeling rather proud of myself! If you want to be rich, live like you're poor; if you want to be poor, live like you're rich.0 -

i gave up for my 40th birthday present to my body, it thanks me every day, its been two years now and i no longer smell like cigarettes all the time!,
well done and keep it up, just think of it as the tax you pay on each cigarette you smoke buys the government one bullet to try and kill someone with, you can save lives every day that way as well as improving your health :-)0 -
Hi Kaya,
I never quite thought of it that way! :-)
Two weeks and two days and £104 saved! If you want to be rich, live like you're poor; if you want to be poor, live like you're rich.0 -
