I managed to get a few jars of the 2p pickled shallots in Newtownabbey, there was no SEL so I had to ask one of the staff to price check it for me, to her amazement it scanned at 2p. No luck finding any of the mustard or other items so far. Got loads of the 10p mugs though in Antrim & Coleraine stores (different thread).

In local Tesco, in the Bakery section, there were quite a few Puff Pastry Mince Pies available (packs of 4) - normally priced around £1.30p but reduced to 1p. Sadly I couldn't take any because I'm a vegetarian and the chap working there said they contained non-vegetarian products. They looked very nice though!

It's already happening folks ... Tesco will have also found sites such as this (which BTW helps them pin point their gaffs) and minimise their losses ...

i'm afraid i have to disagree with you on this one.

these are not glitches, these are genuine deals that head office are aware of. they are end-of-line/soon to be discontinued products - hence the price.

The store policy varies between stores. In the store I work in if an item scans at 1p we are not allowed to sell it (and if you work on a checkout and do you are in a whole heap of trouble). I know some stores sell 1p items but as I say the policy is different in different stores unfortunately.

The grocery manager also said to me that if we find an item that's 1p, we need to take it straight off the shelf and this in a Metro where our custom mostly comes from whoopsie seeking people :)

    HI
Can I ask what may seem a daft question, but I have just found this thread and was wondering just how you know WHAT exactly you are looking for in the store; do you just scan anything thats reduced? I love finding bargains in Tesco, but up to now I have always just been able to find reduced items which scan through at the shelf edge advertised price - saying that though, I did once manage to get a dozen glasses, very nice thick glass tumblers, for 10p each!
    Thanks xx

No head and shoulders reduced although had above types there
    No surf

    What a waste of time

Try TESCO instead, you might have better luck! :rotfl:

paulasx, no it isn't a daft question. It's just down to lucky finds really. If someone gets something really cheap they can put it on here. Or maybe a helpful Tesco worker will do. See my earlier post re Puff Pastry Mince Pies. Cracking buy for a penny - if you're not a veggie!! But I was looking for something else at the time.
