Hi all, got my first 1p Tesco bargain today!!!! (just outside Dudley)
6 tins of Stagg barbeque chilli!!!
I was scanning the aisles and saw this variety (which I've not seen before) and thought i'd give it a chance after what I'd read on here.... So I scanned it and it came up as a penny!
I walked (think runned - with laptop and big bag of other work stuff/junk) with my basket to get 5 more (there were 12 altogether so left some for others) and went to pay.
DH had popped a cider into the basket for tonight but I was too scared to put it through together as 'the friendly assistant who sometimes shouts at you ' was on the self scan in our local store and I know if she would have to approve the cider then she might try to say I couldn't get the chilli....
So, I paid for the chilli and a bottle of mineral water together and put the cider through separately! Friendly assistant was ACTUALLY FRIENDLY  and all was good!
Feel really proud to be a 'penner'! (have put my receipt on the fridge!)
OMG my heart was beating though!
Can i ask where about outside dudley,i love chilli. i live in walsall but today went to heath hayes cannock found some cheese sauce, got some but left some for others;)0 -
Look at this wonderful webpage...
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! :T
Anyone has a barcode for the JW sild please? TIA x
I am doing a shop tomorrow and tinned fish is one of those items that I always try to buy but can rarely afford the branded stuff so just buy the Tesco value brand. The JW would be soooo loovely!!!!!!Art is a life-saving device.

I think the convos make thread better and is of use. Seam some people dont make much effort to find the lists on here i have seen multiple post not that long ago seam some people are a touch lazy. I also like the community feel of it and little details can be of use if not at first obvious.0

Thanks. Have seen these mentioned a few times so have added them to the list just in case. As with most of the list the chances of finding these things are slim. There shouldn't be any expectation to find these things - just a nice bonus if you manage it.
very true.
you shouldn't expect to find a 1p item. nice little surprise though when you do get some!
it was quite funny tonight actually, i bought some bread and milk totalling £1.49, but i had a £1.50 clubcard voucher.
i said to my bf, 'i wish we could find a 1p item'.
:rotfl:
what were the chances to come across ONE 1p item and for it to be called 'wishes'!!

Today I found 1 lonely pack of the Dormen christmas nuts, caperberries and the Colmans cheese sauce mix :j.
I did notice a few items in the nut aisle that were RTC but as I already had my confirmed 1p finds I didn't want to jeopardise my purchases at the till. As has been mentioned these RTC items are reduced initially and then reduced and reduced sometimes ending up at the holy grail price of 1p. I noticed today that the labels had other codes which I am sure mean something and hopefully someone will know. They appear to the right of the RTC on the SEL and are made up of the letter T and a number from 1-4.
For example:
RTC T 1
Does anyone have any idea what they mean?0 -
Ok then, who left a tin of Princes ham (not the 1p variety) in the reduced chiller shelf in a northern market town?!!!! Made me snigger all the way round the shop!0

just wondered how the person who posted the tesco price check reciept with 27x brown sauce had done it, lol.
Sorry for the late reply. I bought them on their own. I actually did a shop and put those through as a separate transaction, but only because I was confident that the guy would put them through and just laugh.
The same guy had previously sold me 24 rubber chickens and we've had banter about it since. I tried in the same store to buy 40 bags of fruit and nuts and went to a trout, who refused to sell them to me (so I cleared them out of 74 boxes of 1p cup-a-soup out of revenge).
I told this guy about the trout refusing to sell them to me and he said "wasn't I working? If I'm not, take them to either that guy or that guy, If I am, bring them to me"
So I have a couple of steady SAs that I can use to buy 1p stuff. To be honest, I've never been denied them by old guys or kids. Definitely worth getting to know a couple of them though0 -

I bet she told her friend or husband to come in and clear them all lol.
I can imagine the type you are on about was a fair few when i worked there.
