1p finds at Tesco thread

You are all so lucky. I look for 1p items every week and never find any I have never manged to get much from the reduced 'bins' either...Usually no matter what time you go in...you have to elbow fight the elderly population to get a peek in the cabinets! I reminds me of the 1980s and jumble sales! Quite amusing in a way when they all moan that they dont want the 'faffy posh food' on offer I say dont be picky and pass it to me
I will venture to tesco tomorrow with the list and see what comes up...hope I get some playmobil. I did get a mug for 34p once...(so that is grandma's xmas pressie sorted :rotfl:) Tesco is an 18 mile round trip from my village so I always have to buy heaps of stuff to justify the £3 deisel costs! (It is also my nearest shop!)
How do you scan the items to check prices? Do you go to customer services desk or self scan price checkout thingys?

Must be a user on here as the listings are full of DTD items including the infamous Maggie Thatcher oral-b toothbrush.

Back on topic there was no sign of the Playmobil pirates at my local today. Will try another Mr Ts tomorrow but I don't hold out much hope. I'm still trying to fly under the radar with the DTD vouchers and the trouts they seem to attract without adding a 1p item into the mix. Could you imagine the trouts reaction to that :eek:

they're also selling the rum sauce!

Please may I join in as well? Been feeling a bit lost since DTD finished and so thought I would look into couponing and this thread as well.

Having spent a few days reading through all the posts and printing out coupons I decided to explore 2 local Tesco stores to see what I could find - amazingly, I found the cartons of tomatoes and chilli!!! I put a couple in my basket to begin with just to make sure that I'd got the right ones and when they went through at 1p each I went back afterwards to do a second shop and picked up another 10! Put them through the self service till this time, no problems at all - great result!!

This was at WWX store in Thanet for anyone who is local - there was still another whole tray left on the shelf - this was on a low shelf behind a pillar and the SEL said 57p I think, so no indication that it was going to be 1p.

I checked for the beans, nuts and pirates but could not find any - may go to the manston store tomorrow to check that out as I still have one lonely DTD voucher to spend and will report back if I find anything.

This is going to be as addictive as the DTD was!

Love this thread and just wanted to say a big thankyou to everyone who's shared their bargains!

In my local (Cheetham Hill, Manchester) I've previously had organic tomatoes and the fruit and nut mix

then today, thanks to thepearce's awesome document i got a jar of chestnuts .still a fair few left on the shelf too.anyone else feel like a criminal going through the till though?i always use selfservice but get so nervous!

i see we have another thanetarian :T i got the fruit & nuts mix & the pirates about a month or so ago from wwx & back last year i got the cuponk toys from there for a penny too i'll have to look out now for the tomatoes with chill thanks

Same shop as I use fairly frequently. The cartons there have been replenished several times- I usually take two or three and leave some for others. There were loads of the nuts initially, but after I posted on here they all vanished within 24 hours! By all means have a look at Manston, but I don't think you'll have much luck there; I've had a good rummage on several occasions to no avail- on the upside though, they do have a couple of price checkers, which makes life easier!

I'll go back further than that. They have the baco bags for 3.99 plus postage amd these were also 1p items as I had hundreds of em!

No more 1p items to be found in Tesco Newtownabbey or Carrickfergus as far as I can tell, Couldn't find the Stagg or Red Lion Chili or the Playmobil anywhere. Hmpf, hate paying full price now for things.
