they sent round a thing to retail to say that there has been a system problem with people being charged for landlines when they shouldnt have and that they should be refunded by the november bill think it was

I went to Orange online to check my bill and had a look through the itemised calls for free. We have a phone each, HWWLTTHMBO has a Nokia on Racoon 35, 18month contract £35 a month unlimited land lines.

EXCEPT, the way the unlimited land lines works is this:

Each billing period you get 500anynet and 250landline mins applied to your account. When you have used the 250landline mins they then take ALL calls from the 500anynet mins til they've run out. Then it goes back to being unlimited land lines and you pay for any other calls you make. So his bill this month has £30 of chargeable calls on it!

I rang them and some snotty cow explained the above and basically tough

Anyone offer me any advice what to do about this? I am NOT happy, not in any way shape or form. There's nothing about this in the T&C's and snotty cow said they arent obliged to tell you just how it works.

    Help..................

I was thinking about signing up for the £35 Racoon package which will also give us free broadband. However this thread has got me thinking. Their website clearly states that the Racoon package will give you 550 anytime minutes, 200 texts and unlimited landline calls.

Are you saying that the "Unlimited landline minutes" only gives you 250 landline minutes before they start taking landline minutes off your anytime minutes???

I phoned Orange on 0800 0790438 and spoke to Bill on Ext 46178 and queried the information on this thread with him. He assured me that the Landline minutes were unlimited and that they would not come off the anytime minutes. I still had my doubts so he said he would make some further enquiries and would phone me back.

He called me about 10 minutes later and stated that there were cases where some customers on this tariff had been billed incorrectly and that they had now received refunds. He confirmed that the landline calls are unlimited and that they do not come out of the anytime minutes. :T

  • peterlittleton as i understand it the 'unlimited' minutes are only available direct from Orange, if you buy from another company on the 18 month contract then it's 250 landline minutes.

It's just a way to try and make you go direct with Orange.

It seems that ovarall you get a much better deal if sign up on-line with Orange, rather than sign up through someone else. In addition to the unlimited landline calls you also get 550 anytime minutes as opposed to 500 if you sign up elsewhere.

First off: Sorry for the delay, I didnt get an email saying new replies and thought this had gone cold. Many thanks to all who posted.

However, my new bill shows a credit and landline calls appear to be free and not coming from the 500xnetmins anymore! So its a result. HWWLTTHMBO's bill was over £150/month on the previous tarif, on this new one its about £45!

(and yes, I am a gay as they say on Little Britain)
