Mattress advice?

You've just said that the Tempura beds were poor by highlighting that they came bottom of the Which report.
Now you're stating that Which aren't bed specialists or 'experts' which is why they didn't test a 2 sided memory foam mattress??
Surely you can't use the Which report to deride the Tempura bed then state the Which report was worthless as Which aren't 'experts'.
They are the best known product testers in the UK. I simply don't believe they don't really know what they're on about... (I'm sure they are not experts in every industry, but I'm darn sure they will work with those that are.
Your referencing of this Which report is very contradictory.
FIRA are the Furniture Industry Research Association, and are also the furniture industry ombudsman. They do know about mattresses, but if they have never come across a two sided memory foam mattress (probably because they have never had to go and inspect a faulty one), then they may not know that they exist.
FIRA carry out the durability tests for Which, and the Tempur mattress failed miserably.
I said that Which aren't bed experts, they just ask advice from FIRA.
I said they didn't test a two sided memory foam mattress because they only tested 3 pocket sprung and memory foam mattress out of 1000's.0 -

He may be the same person yes. It's funny that all 3 of you joined today just to argue and talk rubbish in this thread.
It's obvious from your abusive and wrong comments that you know about as much as my gran about the bed industry.0 -

The whole point is that it should be helping consumers make informed decisions but that is difficult when only one person offers their tupence worth! Now at least the people who read these forums can do that!
So when did you help anyone on MSE? All you have done is come on here under 4 different names to cause trouble, and try to discredit me. But all you are doing is making a fool of yourself.0 -
From my point of view I'm dissapointed.
I don't know enough about beds to know whether "sleep expert" or "Tim Deegan" or "sleep crusader" are right. But I have used the Which guide to buy things previously and I know they are at least impartial.
This site should look into this bed area as I attempted to read the lengthy "Which Mattress" thread for advice and ultimately arrived at the conclusion that what is happening here also happened there - lots of people disagreeing with Tims advice, he then retaliates aggressively, and nobody knows whether the advisors on this site are here only to promote their own bed companies and the products they sell, which I personally think they are!
One other thing. Tim has said on previous posts that he is a full time fire-fighter, which leaves me thinking he must sell his beds part time. (Although I'm unsure how he fits this all in as he seems to be on this site for hours each day.)
How can I take your "expert" advice over that of the Which guide when you're technically only in the industry part time?
I'll stick with the Which guide thank you very much.0 -
So anyone who disagrees with you is just one person? Yeah that must be it!0

Sorry but you are talking rubbish again. Do you think that when they take a two sided mattress and decide to make a non turn version, that they put all the fillings that were in the mattress on one side??? Well I have news for you, they don't. Instead they put half the amount of fillings in the non turn mattress to cut production costs.sleepcrusader wrote: »And finally my mattress is a Nestledown 2500 pocket spring mattress with a memory foam and cashmere pillow top. The memory foam is for PRESSURE RELIEF and the cashmere (which is a type of wool) is for COMFORT!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Are you serious??????
You bought a Nestledown mattress, and you say you know about the bed industry.
The cashmere would be either in the fabric, or would be such a small amount that it wouldn't be worth having, and therefore would just be there as a gimmick. As you would know if you weren't Dreams trained, memory foam needs your body heat to soften it so that it moulds to your body. Then the memory foam that is further away from your body will be cooler and will stay firmer. This is how memory foam gives support. So if there was a layer of cashmere wool that was any deeper than enough to just say it's there, then it would insulate your body heat from the memory foam and prevent it from working.
By the way you have just made yourself look a fool again by contradicting yourself:sleepcrusader wrote: »I don't know the manufacturer, but anyone that tells you memory foam is meant for support is barking up the wrong tree!0 -
That's a nice mattress sleepcrusader. I have a 2000 pocket sprung with memory foam. The Sacha, from Rest Assured. Tell me Tim, what kind of mattress do you have? I'm genuinly interested!0

Actually it is often the same people coming back under different names, just the same as it is here.
Yes I am a full time firefighter. I work 42 hours a week, but there are 168 hours in a week, so I do the equivalent to full time hours doing both. I also spent 16 years in electroplating. I do however make sure that I know the job I am doing, this sort of comes in handy having this atitude when you are a firefighter, as it can save your life. So I do the same in the bed business, just as I did in electroplating.
I don't actually have to spend hours on here, because I get an automated e-mail each time someone posts in a thread I'm subscribed to.
So is there anything else you want to know about me, or are you just being nosey? After all it's none of your business is it.0 -

So you have two mattresses then sleepcrusader.....both of them made by low quality manufacturers.:rotfl:0 -

:rotfl: I notice you never said what kind of mattress you have? Isn't that odd?
So you're a full time fire fighter, a full time bed sales man and yet you have time to sit on here ALL day posting...I think one might find you are really unemployed??0
