Surprise, surprise it is a one sided mattress!

There needs to be some common sense used here. Which magazine aren't bed specialists, they take advice from FIRA who also do the tests. They only tested 17 mattresses, of which 12 were reflex foam with memory foam. The other 5 were sprung with memory foam, but only 3 of these were pocket sprung with memory foam.

They were told by FIRA that you can't get two sided memory foam mattresses, because this is what FIRA wrongly thought.

So out of the 100's of pocket spring and memory foam mattresses on the market, Which only tested 3. And these were from quite large companies because there would be no point them testing mattresses that were difficult to get hold of.

I'd be confused if I were you as well. This so called expert is telling anyone who would care to listen that two sides to a memory foam mattress are better than one. This is wrong and if you search for any length of time on the internet you'll find plenty of evidence to back it up. It is essentially a way of getting people to part with cash for fillings they don't need! The Memory Flex is a brilliant mattress that I would recommend without any hesutation.

Didn't you say that you shouldn't trust anyone who makes spelling mistakes? :rotfl:

You have come up with no argument at all as to why you think a non turn mattress would be better than a two sided one. After all common sense says that two sided would be better. I would be interested to hear why you think otherwise?

You didn't answer my question about your pillow top.

I'm a little concerned about your opinions regarding Sealy. Do you think that the biggest and best selling bed brand in the entire world is poor quality? As a brief example, in Scotland where consumers are well known to be "tight fisted", Sealy sell more beds per head of capita than anywhere else in the world. Does that make the Scottish public stupid? By your reeckoning I assume it does.

If you know anything about retail, you will know about the power of advertising. Sealy used to be good manufacturers, until they were taken over by the Silentnight group. They use the power of advertising to tell people how good their products are, when really they aren't. Poeple believe advertising, or there would be no point in spending money on it.

Northern Ireland is a prime example. Most of the mattresses on sale there are from the Silentnight group, so it is difficult to buy anything else.

I speak to my customers, and 1000's if not 1000's have told me about bad experiences with mattresses made by the Silentnight group. The biggest problem of all is the continuous spring system, which most manufacturers have stopped using due to it being so unreliable and noisey. You would know this if you knew anything about the bed industry. In fact many people who sell beds actually advise family and friends against the Silentnight group.

I don't run a website so don't expect anyone to buy from me based on my ability to spell and present a coherent written statement. I'm terribly sorry if my spelling mistakes offend you.

Excuse me, but it was you who told people not to trust a site that had a couple of spelling mistakes. What if it had been written by someone who was dyslexic......would you discrimate against them?

The reason I prefer one sided mattresses has been spelled out to you before. I don't understand why anyone would spend money and not get the benefit of all the fillings every single night. As for my mattress, it is memory foam and cashmere and is wonderfully comfortable, has improved my quality of sleep and is far better than the non brand open coil, TWO SIDED one that I had before!

That still isn't a valid reason. You are comparing two completely different mattresses. If you had compared a non turn version of the open coil sprung mattress to the two sided one, then you wouldn't have been able to tell any difference, but the two sided one would last longer. If you had compared a two sided version of your mattress to your then you wouldn't have been able to tell any difference.

What is the point of memory foam and cashmere? Are you making this up now, or are you going to tell us the model mattress you have?

I personally have no issue with any product made by the Silentnight group. I feel that they are perhaps slightly overpriced for what they are, but in terms of quality I don't have an issue. Ultimately, these are opinions and opinions don't always match. People will always have bad experiences with product but these bad experiences aren't just restricted to Silentnight group. I think a big part of your animosity towards these products is that you are small fry and cannot sell these lines at a good enough margin so decide not to sell them and instead choose to spread lies about them!

Now you are talking rubbish again. I could sell them, but I refuse to, because I don't sell rubbish. The same as I don't sell pillow top mattresses because I refuse to sell rubbish. One of my suppliers even does a two sided pillow top mattress, but I won't sell it.

Anyone who knows anything about the bed industry knows that they are poor quality. So are you in the business, or are you just here to argue and cause trouble??
  • This is absolute class. How can you give advice when you know nothing about mattresses/beds? I am at the stage of dying...these posts giving 'advice' from Tim are cringe worthy!

You've just said that the Tempura beds were poor by highlighting that they came bottom of the Which report.

Now you're stating that Which aren't bed specialists or 'experts' which is why they didn't test a 2 sided memory foam mattress??

Surely you can't use the Which report to deride the Tempura bed then state the Which report was worthless as Which aren't 'experts'.

They are the best known product testers in the UK. I simply don't believe they don't really know what they're on about... (I'm sure they are not experts in every industry, but I'm darn sure they will work with those that are.

Your referencing of this Which report is very contradictory.

So called 'Sleep Expert', or should I say sleepcrusader, if you were any sort of expert you would know that what I say is right. You are just on here to cause trouble.
  • Stop trying to cover up your incompetance by saying we are the same person. I guess johnjo is sleepcrusader aswell. You are pathetic! It's sad really.
