Did another HHC but again didn't do much off the list as DS decided to empty out my paperwork box onto the floor of the living whilst I was out feeding rest of chickens. So instead if just putting it all back in the box, I decided to do some filing! Then whilst I was filing, DS decided to then pull my laptop off the sofa onto the floor, so exercise for this is to clear off the desk upstairs in my bedroom in order to find spot for laptop!

Monday ~ Living Room, Hall and Stairs
    Level 1
    V[STRIKE]acuum floors and sofas[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wash nets/curtains/other soft furnishings that are grotty.. do we need winter curtains up yet? [/STRIKE]
    Level 2
    Dusting, even if around everything
Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
    Level 3
    [STRIKE]Clear fire surround of gibble![/STRIKE]
Put all hotspots into a pile/box and sort through it all while having a cuppa.
[STRIKE]Tidy shoes, coats and bags .. wash any that need washing. See if there are any that don't fit, past their best or just plain uncomfy which could leave the house! Who needs new coats/boots for winter?[/STRIKE]
    Extras
[STRIKE]Paperwork clearance.. spend 15 minutes minimum sorting through those piles of paper.[/STRIKE]
Make sure lightbulbs are working and smoke alarms!!!!
    Clean a window or two.
Defluff behind radiators.. has anyone tried those heat reflective things for behind radiators? Are they good for energy saving?

but extra bits that I did were:
Hang one load of washing out
Put another load of washing on
    Fed Chicks
    Fed all the chickens

Having a rest now and will probably do some sorting of paperwork, need to fill school holiday dates on calendar, send off some medical forms, print out some posters and write out paying in slip.

  • Helloooo - I'm back!!! Not posted on here for about 1 year or so, but have started lurking in the school holidays and decided to jump back in! I had thought stopping 2 of my 4 jobs whilst the schools were off would leave me plenty of time to declutter the house - twas not to be!

Going to attack the list this morning - the Wm is on for the 2nd time this morning with our bedding - Cumbria is expecting a massive amount of rain for the next 2 days so there'll be no chance of washing and have decided to get it all out this morning whilst the air is still warm. Wish me luck.

    HHC at 11 am anyone?

Morning all what do you use to defluff behind radiators cant recall ever doing it and the heat reflector things anyone got them are they good I might look at doing level 1 today Ive been full of cold since last thursday at work all day fri and sat so even the basics have been challenge so the radiators can wait just curious:)

It may be worth checking if your energy supplier has a special offer on radiator heat reflectors, or having a look at Energy Saving Trust
http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/ to see if they have any local offers or grants. If you're in social housing, do your local council or housing association have any work planned under Decent Homes 2010?

[STRIKE]Ah, the backs of radiators... Pigpen, did you have some fiendish method to do this? You can get specialist brushes or use one of those long antistatic dusters.[/STRIKE]

I use my trusty Duster-Onna-Stick, an ancient and venerable lambswool thingy that has, if I'm honest, seen better days.:D

Some of today's list will be deferred til the weekend, when the woofers have gone home, simply because it's the most logical course.;)

Other than that, between what's left and what's already been done, I think I'll manage to get all today's tasks either done or scheduled for later.:T
I do also have a small list of things that I could do with getting out of the way, but how far I'll get with that remains to be seen.

I'm at the hossy tomorrow afternoon, and Mr LW's got a day's leave (in order to take me) so I wonder if Piggers could possibly give me a sneak preview of tomorrow's list, or at least tell me which room, (I'm guessing kitchen:)), so that I can make a bit of a start if I get chance.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
