  • No I do not work.

Children are 4 nearly 5, and 9 months.

He pays £350 for our children.
  • You can claim Income support, LHA/HB, CTB and CTC.

The money for the children is disregarded.

    Thank you for replying.

Why is the money from my kids disregarded?

Do I still have to tell them what i get from him?

The disregard for child support was introduced in April 10.

Work your way through the Entitled To (turn2us) benefit calculator to check your entitlements. The LHA direct website will help you understand your LHA entitlement. The last time I checked, a single parent with 2 kids will get around £34 per week child benefit, £65 income support and around £100 per week tax credits, plus full council tax rebate and most or all of their LHA depending. If the rent charged by the landlord is less than the LHA maximum allowance, the tenant gets to keep up to the first £15 difference, too.

    Yes.

He must be making a fortune for you to get that amount of child support.

Perhaps he is just a decent father who loves his children and wants to support them, instead of just paying the minimum he can get away with by law?
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

If you're not with the partner, and not working, what income do you have now?

Do you live on your own, with parents, or other people?

Is your home rented or do you have a mortgage?

People will be able to advise better if they know your circumstances.

Perhaps, let's hope he still feels the same way when new partners are involved ;)
