I've claimed less transaction amounts.
Paypal aren't really that helpful - there was one guy who must have made at least £3000 out of 10 people (including myself) a while back by selling an item he never had. Paypal were jokes they were only willing to offer £105 and I paid £300. All I did was a chargeback and got the money back from the credit card company and paypal then hassle the seller to get there money back. Paypal weren't happy with that but I was
Always use a credit card regardless of the transaction amount.
In your situation Paypal didn't offer you anything, the fact that you got £105 suggests that it was processed as an eBay standard purchase protection claim (max £120 less a £15 admin fee)0 -

As far as I was aware all fone companies do not permit you to sell unwanted upgrades?!?!?!? because if you cancel the contract all the phones in those names would become inoperable?
but how does this information help the OP exactly?0 -
If this was me I would:
Contact the Seller say unless they return the payment you will inform the police that they sold you a stolen phone!
Contact Ebay / Paypal and inform them that they are assisting in the sale of stolen items and you intend to take the matter further. - okay they may do nothing but it gets it off your chest.
Thirdly inform the police (after giving the seller time to cough up) that you have been sold stolen goods and proviode the sellers details (and the phone) to them to further the investigation.0 -

Exactly. It doesn't help and is completely incorrect. Any mobile you get is *your property*, aslong as you pay the contract the network *doesn't care* what you do with the phone, whether it's sell it, give it away or use it as a doorstop. In fact, most of them have in their T&Cs that the phone is acquired by you outside the terms of the contract, this meaning they can still charge you for the contract if ytou move and don't get good reception etc.
And as for the 99%,. what a load of !!!!!!!!. Yes, there are a fair few scammers out there, but nowhere near half the phones, not even a quarter I'd say. The vast majority are older phones.0 -

Looks like no feedback has been left for the transaction yet maybe because the OP fears retaliation by way of a negative. If this doesnt deserve a negative to warn other buyers Im not sure what does and a strong factual negative such as 'Sold me a phone which Police confirmed was stolen but would not resolve' would hit his sales of other phones for sure.

My credit card (Halifax One)replied that there is no liabilty for them, so now I am looking forward to claim through MoneyClaim under Sale of Goods Act 1979,the Consumer Protection(Distance Sales)Regulations 2000 as he sold me a stolen phone but seller's postal address is incomplete. I exchanged contact info on ebay but it comes up with name, city name and post code, there is no house number on the file, IS THERE any way I can get his house number?"Money saving is often a science, investment is often an art."...MSE0

As address was incomplete in ebay file I emailed Paypal requesting them to give me the seller address other wise I claim against Paypal under Sale of Goods Act 1979,the Consumer Protection(Distance Sales)Regulations 2000, They replied and opened an appeal ( Before that they refused to take appeal) and after some day they requested me to fax the police document, and finally they decided in my favor and refunded me the full amount.
So long fight but finally success."Money saving is often a science, investment is often an art."...MSE0 -
