pvr/recording for satelite and freeview?

If you want to record on one device only then the solution is a DVD/HDD recorder that has a built in Freeview tuner. I have one which I use to record from a satellite receiver from 13 and 19.2 (motor not yet installed) connected to scart input on recorder as well as from its inbuilt Freeview tuner to either its hard disk or direct to DVD.
Why do other people on here seem to find it so difficult to understand what you want?0 -
A Humax 9300T PVR is a HDD recorder with a built in Freeview tuner (twin tuners actually). No free lunch, and no free laptop

thanks davemurgatroyd, much appreciated.
i dont know why people had difficulty in understanding what i wanted? maybe my info wasnt accurate enough?
but it does wind me up when people get a bit clever and sarcastic with there answers. no need for it !
i think a dvd/hdd recorder will fit the bill0 -
A Humax 9300T PVR is a HDD recorder with a built in Freeview tuner (twin tuners actually).
But it will not record an external source from its inputs - which is what the OP wants. Virtually all DVD/HDD recorders will record from inbuilt tuners and from external sources usually via their scart sockets. Virtually no twin tuner PVRs will record from external source - that is the difference.0 -
I would never recommend a DVD recorder just for the equivalent of Sky+ functions. They're much superior for archiving programmes because there is (obviously) no capacity limit. But for eveything else a HHD recorder wins every time for me.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Which was why I suggested a DVD/HDD recorder which is a combined device.0 -
I read it as DVD or HDD recorder...No free lunch, and no free laptop
