Please confirm that this migration will NOT mean a new contract, and that current contracts that have ended stay as rolling 1 month ones.
TalkTalk_Company_Representative wrote: »In terms of the changeover of packages this is part of the amalgamation of the ex-Tiscali customer base into TalkTalk. All accounts will be migrated to the TalkTalk billing system, at this point you will have to take one of the active plans, either Essentials or Plus for phone and BB or UK Even and Weekend or UK Anytime for phone only packages.
You will be offered the most suited plan to your usage when your account is being migrated.

.... I rang Talk Talk for a MAC code yesterday and was told I needed to give no notice. No notice at all. I asked for confirmation that if I gave no notice that I would not be charged extra for termination of the service and the man said no charge.
I am an ex-tiscali customer who has not knowingly entered into a new a new package.
Is this correct - no notice and no charges?
I have emailed their customer services for confirmation also.0 -

12.7 Subject to any Minimum Contract Period that may apply, if you are moving to another Service Provider for the provision of Telephone Services or Broadband Services then the following apply:
12.7.1 Broadband Services: If you are moving to another Service Provider, you must request a migration authorisation code (a "MAC"). Upon such request, we will issue you with a MAC wherever possible. Your account will not be cancelled until you use your MAC and migrate to another service provider and you must pay all charges for the Broadband Services until the date on which your contract actually ends. Where a MAC can not be provided we will use all reasonable endeavours to facilitate your migration to another Service Provider.

If you are moving to a cable provider, we must treat your termination as not being a transfer to another Service Provider, and accordingly condition 12.7 will apply. Termination and no Transfer to another Service Provider0 -
Hi Wahtajoke,
To confirm the rebranding of Tiscali - TalkTalk following the acquisition of Tiscali by TalkTalk, did not equate to a new contract term.
Instead all accounts remained on the same tariffs, terms and conditions and contract terms as previously.
In the event there were to be a change to your contracted term this would need to be agreed with the account holder in advance of its implementation.

That doesn;t answer the question.
As we will be made to take one of the active plans,
and I quote from your post-TalkTalk_Company_Representative wrote: »All accounts will be migrated to the TalkTalk billing system, at this point you will have to take one of the active plans, either Essentials or Plus for phone and BB or UK Even and Weekend or UK Anytime for phone only packages.

which from what I can see would be a "change to your contracted term"
would a new contract period comes into effect?0 -
Hi
Mark - could you please give me an email address for TISCALI customer services ?
I have an email address for TalkTalk but they are unable to help as it appears that despite a change in tarriff I am still a Tiscali customer.
I need an actual email address as I do not want to set up an account via the website to email them.
Thank you0 -
So, 2 questions
1) would a new contract period comes into effect?
2) Please also confirm that this number 01914237400 is nothing to do with you, as I really don't like cold calls coming from people claiming to be talktalk.0 -
Reading this post with interest, I was a Tiscali customer for 2 years before they were bought out.
I now have the following problem (nutshell form summary here)
Talk Talk have decided that they want to change all the Direct Debit dates to the 20th of each month, this poses a problem for me in managing my finances and I have asked to switch providers. I spent 1 and 3/4 hours explaining this to the customer relations / retentions team who wanted to charge me over £90 to leave the contract.
To the authorised Talk Talk representative, please could you provide me with the correct postal address to send my letter regarding this to the head office?0 -

When does your contract end. As this would also seem to be a major detremental change in the contract conditions you may find a get-out route there.0 -
I was re-signed in January 2010, 12 month contract so around 4 months left to run. Have written them a lovely letter about how their terms and conditions regarding this are in contravention of UTCCR 99, just need to know where best to send it! If people are having similar problems, very happy to email them copy of my letter, get in touch through PM.0

Hi Whatajoke,
The Contract Term would not be renewed unless specifically stated in the correspondence sent to you.
As previously advised if you do not wish to agree with the newly proposed terms you can choose not to agree the continuation of services and seek supply elsewhere.
I would advise to read the terms of the new plan in full and decide if this is suitable for your needs. IF this is not suitable then by all means seek alternative supply and exert your rights to change supplier due to the changes in your contract term.
Regardless of if you are in or out of contract if the ISP changes the terms of the contract you do not have to agree to the new terms, this does however mean you may have to seek an alternative supplier before terms come into effect.
