    Oh do you really?

Maybe the sellers don't fancy taking a 70k knock for you. :rotfl:

I can help you here my old mate.

For £320k I guess you are looking at 4 bed detached places. Well your money will only allow you to purchase a 3 bed place. Don't beat yourself up over it. You can't afford a 4 bed.

There. You will sleep better now.

I anticipate selling one of my houses for £200k. I wouldn't even take £195k.

Just so you know what you are dealing with.

    Are you Hamish's alter ego?

What I do object to is the vile scum hoping and dreaming society and everything in it falls. Just because they have failed in their lives and have a chip on their shoulder. I think we can all tell the difference. People posting every scrap of bad news not related to house prices.

    Losers.

Treat them with the contempt they deserve.

I hate to break it to you but there is more to life than owning property. Have you been on holiday recently? Had a weekend break with your partner? Do any sports? Got any good mates? Do any nice cooking?

I'd sit down and prepare yourself for his reply because in sibleys made up fairytale world everything is rosey and nothing bad ever happens to him. It must be a great place to live and all for only 200k a house. Bargain!

Apparently he lives in the festering pool of alienated, insecure, bitterness which is Bangkok's miserable western expat community.

There are plenty of Sibley's out there and whenever I've been I have been very glad to have nothing whatsoever to do with them.

I understand what you're saying ISTL, and that makes a certain sort of sense too.

That sort of imbalance, doesn't seem like it would create a healthy or safe society to me.

Not one which is conducive to house price stability. Where it's just the highest earners who can afford property. The elite.

Or into renting from established elite.

With bones with no meat on them, thrown to the lower paid. Schemes trying to lull lower income people into taking on a lot more debt for housing in pretty naff areas. I'd rather have the 3-bed £70K (overpriced) maisonette in the same area.

I can't stand all these schemes to try and encourage people to overpay and take on more debt, and fear values will correct for many lured into them - more so depending on the area - by the force of economic necessities.

So what needs to be done to get that equilibrium to ensure that house prices are directly affected by wages?
little clue, it involves, bricks, mortar and more of them.

This guy, London based, can't even get a tenant for his "cheap" investment - including any on benefits. And I'm seeing signs of people feeling encouraged to move because of cut-backs looming in their own areas... including free school buses. Fewer people will want to live in declining areas of opportunity.

Maybe it's an indicator that it was not the right investment choice.
Chances are, if he can't rent it out, it would be sold

just out of interest - why not £210k? why not £220k? or £190k? or £250k?

i'm genuinely curious where your £200k figure comes from.

    Well you did ask :)

I actually hit the jackpot and landed a job in Bangkok. I love Thailand and spent all my time trying to be here anyway so it's a dream come true.

Yes,there is more to my life than owning property.

I have a sexy Thai wife (47 kilo's) who is bi-sexual and into group sex.

I own a black winged kite and enjoy falconry as another hobby.

I like fishing and am lucky enough to fish the best lake in the world every other weekend. Bungsumrang in Bangkok.

    I live in a cracking 3 bedroom house for £100 a month.

    I have a nice car.

My friends and I often go away to Pattaya for weekends and I have slept with at least 30 different girls this year alone.

    My job is fantastic.

Apart from that my lifes terrible.:rotfl:
