And they're around half the level today that they were in 1990 when we bought.
Even in 2007, they were significantly lower than in 1990 when we bought.
Can you show me? I'd like to find the catch0 -

Graham,
You once asked a question as to why people go on about Aberdeen so much.
I returned the question to you as you seem to bring up Aberdeen quite a lot.
Once again you bring Aberdeen into a thread that had not been referenced previously.
What is your love affair with Aberdeen?
Why don't you try and not be petty?
You certainly cannot critisize when people show facts on the area to quosh those that slate the place so much.

The third one is to power homes in Aberdeen. So obviously these jobs will not be created, as Aberdeen has it's own microclimate, microeconomy, microhumans, and micro everything else. So it's going to have it's own far better power too.

There are probably loads more as above where you are the first to bring Aberdeen into the discussion, however I think you get my point from the few shown above:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

I dont understand why people feel a need to bash those who received some cash help from parents to buy a house. It kinda seems the norm.
Is it just a small attempt to bring that person down a peg and reduce the bitterness and jealousy you feel towards them?0 -

I don't understand why people feel a need to bash people for not being able to afford a home and renting instead, or for saving and waiting for what they percieve to be the best time to buy and get the most for their hard saved money either.
But you thank that.0 -

So it's just a retaliation thing?0 -

Hamish does come across as a rather blinkered optimist and is eager to share any scrap bit of 'recovery' news he finds with us. Obviously he's entitled to his opinions and interest. I just don't enjoy reading the same posts of a man desperate to see prices sky rocket again. .
From what I seen he is either on a windup or he is some sort of stooge for some group with clear vested interests.
It is always clear that markets ride on sentiment - is it coincidental that he is always trying to create a certain type of sentiment?
Ignore his propaganda.
Put him on ignore.0 -
Oh do you really?
Maybe the sellers don't fancy taking a 70k knock for you. :rotfl:
I can help you here my old mate.
For £320k I guess you are looking at 4 bed detached places. Well your money will only allow you to purchase a 3 bed place. Don't beat yourself up over it. You can't afford a 4 bed.
There. You will sleep better now.
I anticipate selling one of my houses for £200k. I wouldn't even take £195k.
Just so you know what you are dealing with.

The problem is most of the crashers haven't got a large deposit. In fact they can't even pay their rent on time.
On what do you base this assertion?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

4 bed for £320k? Sweetie, you must live in a very deprived area....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
