Will O2 Shop Sync My Phones?

Hi All I have an O2 Online contract but kept last year's Samsung D500 and sold the upgrade in March, which was a mistake! The D500 has intermittent faults and is getting tired so I've just bought an O2 PAYG Sony Ericsson K310i to replace it with (but bin the new sim and keep the contract). Hmm well sending via IR worked for 3 contacts but now it 'fails' almost immediately on the D500 and says 'Connection Lost' on the K310i. Any suggestions?

Edit to add - I managed to do them all in the end. IR ports just need to be lined up well and then it works nicely. Still took a while as the D500 insists on switching off the IR connectivity after every transfer! Done now though, cheers.
