Old Style Daily Thread Sunday 5th September 2010

Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Sunday 5th September 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier![*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine.

Good Morning Again:j
I seem to be the first one up again - mainly because my sleep is still messed up:eek: Still Im at my most creative this time of the morning!!

I have the washing machine on already. I decided that it just had to go on( despite being very noisy) as very stinky dog beds and blankets came back from my parents. They have two westies and so do I so chaos reigned when we went to collect them. I couldn't work out which were mine as they had all morphed into one:eek: Think I have got the right ones and its so lovely to have them home as they are my constant companions:T

Well we are slowly tackling the washing and washing machine limping on. I did a huge online shop that was delivered yesterday and the kids are all organised for school:T:T

Thanks for the good wishes re the scan. It was fine but very noisy but my badger technique worked well again - visualisation to remain calm in scanner! I had a very bad turn as I got up as I cant lie flat on my back that frightened the radiologist but kids dad took it in his stride :o I do wonder what people must think of me at times but Im ok now. Just got to get the results so we shall see!

DD off to work today and is now enjoying her job so hope she will stick it out. I need to work out some meals for us to have - the freezer is full so it shouldn't be difficult. DS1 has just come in from partying looking the worse for wear so I shall have to go and put a bucket by his bed:eek:

Have a relaxing day xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Morning Molly and Greetings to all that will follow!

I tagged onto your thread yesterday as a real newbie so if I stray right off track and need kicking back into gear please let me know. You all seem so organised on here, knowledgeable and very friendly :D.

I wandered in here a couple of days ago desperate for some money saving tips on a gallbladder friendly diet, after finding out i have gallstones and already I have learnt more than my brain can cope with

I only had about an hours doze but I suppose that counts as going to bed, knowing me i will collapse and sleep when my painkillers begin to work.

Todays plan - or hope - depending on how things go is to go through my baking ingredients cupboard and my tins/packets etc one too. I have images in my head of my sat on the floor surrounded by flour and escaping sultanas already :rotfl:. They are both pretty full as I have such small storage spaces and I really need to assess what I have so I can veer towards organisation. (In my dreams)

Ok, Ill go now, probably gone into gabble mode now.

    Big huggles xx

Morning molly & sarah, & everyone else who follows :)

Been up since before light with baby again - she's suddenly begun waking at oh-my-god o'clock again, despite it being light later, & then she's cream crackered by 9! :rotfl:

Nice & sunny here - WM on in 5 minutes, then will start on ironing before DH & 3-year-old DS surface. Too early to decide what else to do or what to have for meals - will think for a bit & go for a cuppa!

Have a lovely Sunday morning, everyone, & will pop back later.

    A xo

Hi Shy sarah - you'll find loads of people on here who are only too happy to help - its great. Cheapskate - OMG - been there done that twice - I feel for you x.

Last day of survival (I mean school holidays!) Will tidy up the garden (as it seems that autumn has arrived already); clear and resort the sitting room (its a mess from where we made "tents" yesterday with the boys); get things for lunches and school bags ready and lastly use up the bits and pieces in the fridge with a leftover day.

That means pancakes for breakfast - so I'd better wake up the OH and get the day started. Have a great day everyone. xx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Morning everyone, I am so glad I am not the only one up at silly o'clock on a sunday morning. DS woke me up again, I have left OH and DD in bed and we are up.
I aready have a wash done and on the line and another swirling around. I need to do my shopping , list all prepared and mealplan written, ironing and while the lamb is cooking I need to put in some muffins for lunch boxes.
Went to Mil yesterday and picked all the plums and all the tomatoes, I made a cherry tomato pasta sauce ready for during the week. Their next door neighbour also gave me some apples and a few pears so I am thinking and apple cake and maybe a pear and ginger cake. Yum yum.
    Have a good day everyone.

    Hello & welcome Shysarah

Lovely day here in Essex, September is definately one of my favourite months. Have been up a while but having a slow start.

Plans today - washing, ironing, weekly menu plan and just pottering about. DD has had a friend stayover and DS will probably make the most of the nice weather and play out.

Have lamb today from the freezer - that will go in the slow cooker. Probably will have some beans from the garden but don't think anymore marrows are ready yet.

Going to finish my tea and have a little surf around the forums - have a lovely Sunday.x

    Morning my lovelies :D

Weather is dry so might take advantage and hang out the washing in a mo.

DS has just had a major nosebleed. Bed sheets now need washing. It's not the first time he's had one - seems to have a couple of incidents a year. Hope it's not going to increase. Still gives my paediactiric first aid training some practice :rotfl:

Not sure we're going swimming, especially if DS is going to start leaking again. I confess I hardly got anything done yesterday :o so I must make my chicken pies today before I turn into an OS style fraud :o

Not much else on the agenda - might see if I can persuade H to go and have a look at a caravan I found. No intention of buying it but I wanted to double check it's layout.

Hugs to those that need them. Have a good Sunday OS or not.

Shysarah - Welcome to the thread :D

    Morning all

My bladder kindly woke me at 6:30 this morning and I debated going back to bed but decided to sort out the washing instead and came downstairs when DD woke at 7:20

So first load is done going to get next load in a mo, mince has been browned and shoved in the SC with celery onions lentils and some Bisto best and that will be dinner this evening either as it is with mash and veg or in a pie with chips. Spuds are peeled too.

Trying to get organised as I have quite a few MS jobs on this afternoon (our shops don't open til 1pm here) and DH is keeping the kids so I can go on my own :j

Sarah - I had a 'do' gall stones when DD was about 4 months old - horrendously painful and the only thing that came close to easing the pain was a painkiller called 'Remedene Forte' (spelling might not be right:p) I think it was just a one off *touches wood* but a friend of mine had the same thing happen and she found that she can eat pretty much everything with the exception of cheese.

    Enjoy Sunday :D

I hear you! Ever since I've started on Slimming World (4weeks ago) I've been waking up 2-3 times a night to go to the loo!!. Luckily I manage to fall back to sleep afterwards - the benefits of living in a flat and not having to be awake enough to negociate stairs :rotfl: - but I do worry sometimes cos I am prone to bouts of insomnia that I won't go back to sleep one night!

I managed to sleep in til 8.30 today :). It's a bit grey and miserable here this morning so haven't put the WM on yet just in case. It's only towels so they can wait. The sun is trying to come through so maybe they will go on later.

I have no plans today :D I have pile of trashy magazines, a good book and a few little thingd to do round the flat. I need some lightbulbs so may pop out to Wilko's if I can be bothered, but then again I may not!

    Have a great day all

Late start for us this morning, it's hubby's birthday so I had to give him a little treat before we got up.
DW & WM both on, not sure if we will go to the BBQ, looks like rain here, I'll let hubby decide, it's his family. I've made chinese ribs & jerk chicken to take if we do go.
I gave him his spade, he's very pleased as it is a good make & should be stronger than his last one which broke.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
