i used to bulk buy, but have come to realisation that its dead money sitting in my cupboards. supermarkets offers change monthly, if not more often, so there isnt really any need to bulk buy more than you can use

i suppose if youre brand led, then it may make more sense to bulk buy your favourites, but im quite fickle, so buy whats on offer, rather than stick to one set product

  • i do it on mainly loo roll, tuna, tomato sauce, pasta and tuna pasta sachets.

i use costco alot so most of the time it works out cheaper from there than the supermarket especially for loo roll and tuna. i could probably live for about 3 months with what ive got in my cupboards and freezer with just buying fresh fruit and veg and milk.
  • any offers in any stores please?
have searched net but not found anything,
    Nice to save.
  • Bought about a quarter of a million teabags when they were on 33% Extra Free and BOGOF.

Bought about 6 months' worth of tinned chilli-con-carne when Tesco had it for 25p instead of £1.

Don't do it often because I don't have a lot of storage space, and if something's on offer it'll probably come round again.

Also stock up the freezer with bread, rolls etc when on Yellow Stickers.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I bulk buy beer when it's on offer.

I bought 6 cases of various lagers when Tesco's were doing their 24 x 440ml cans for £10 recently. Although I get a buzz from saving a few ££'s I also feel a bit embarassed going throught the tills with so much booze. :o

Just recently bulk bought 3 months supply of Heinz big soups at 3 for £2 in Tesco's and 80 packs of golden wonder crisps in Netto's for a little over 6p a pack. I just can't resist a bargain.

  • Yes I bulk buy too. Iceland had PG tips teabags (large box with 50% extra for £2 ) Felt embarrassed going through the till with a trolley full to last a year. Went back the next day to get some more and they still had plenty on the shelves. It's the only tea we drink. Have plenty of beans, tuna, milk powder, washing up liquid, bleach, washing powder, toilet rolls, hair products, toothpaste, sanitary towels, baby wipes too. The only thing is I'm running out of space. I had a delivery recently consisting of 20 tubs of Clover, (freezable) around 8 boxes of cornflakes and several packs of sugar. The delivery driver made a comment which makes me wonder if he thinks I'm on a bad diet, lol! Also delivery was free as I had a £5 voucher to use online.

I bulk buy on things I won't buy another brand of, so Tetley T bags, as it's all DH drinks, I would buy them in bulk, up to a 6 month supply, beer, but max 3 cases, as we don't drink much at home.

Things like tuna I buy in bulk when the cupboard is looking a bit sparse, but again only what we'll get through in about 6 months. Yes, I know it keeps longer, but the offers usually return after a few months, giving me time to top up the supplies.

e.g. Arm and Hammer toothpaste is regularly reduced to half price, so I buy a few tubes when it's on offer and never pay full price.

Toilet roll is stored in the cupboard under the stairs, so can get a few 9 or 12 packs in there. Beer goes in the porch so doesn't take up cupboard room, everything else I need to be careful I still have room for it as we don't have a larder cupboard.;)
