just read michael o`leary is considering flying his ryanair flights with one pilot as he thinks the second pilot is pointless.
is there no end to the things this guy will do to save money lol.
this would never get sanctioned, it is bad enough he wants to charge for the toilet and have ppl standing also.

No, but you can bet your life that the gutter press is falling over itself to give O'Leary the attention he craves.
He's a publicist - why can't people see through that?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Well, the "fly by wire" on Boeings is supposed to be more accurate than human piloting.0

1st April has come early. If you don't have two pilots how do first officers get enough hours to become captains?
Truth is planes can take off, fly and land themselves so why have anyone sat up front? Just have ground staff to get them on and off the runway!0 -
It will never get past the CAA and nor will standing up on take off and landing. You've got to laugh at O'Leary's drive for self-publicity though and the stupid press for indulging him.
This one might well backfire though. I know I've appreciated having two experienced pilots at the front on the couple of occasions I've been on planes in trouble (one had a small fire, the other landed just after hitting a microburst which put us lower than we should be). I'd like to see a trained member of cabin crew handle those. This suggests to me that O'Leary doesn't take safety seriously and no matter what I pay for a ticket that's something I expect to see factored in.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? For the first time ever we are flying to EMA with Ryaniar in November now that Easyjet have pulled out but will consider cancellation if he does do this but will he care now that he has our money?0 -
jamandsandwiches, the CAA will be all over this. DH works for an airline and when he heard this he called O'Leary a self-publicising !!!!!!, said no chance and promptly started rolling around it fits of laughter. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? won't be long before for an extra £20 you can land the plan yourself....0

That will be fun if they let me do it - I can't park the car without about 3 goes.:rotfl::rotfl: That's why I am not allowed to drive anymore.0

The "standing up" thing wasn't even O'Leary's idea. I was suggested by a Chinese airline and he only found out about it after a journalist at the Telegraph called the Ryanair press office to ask whether they would consider it.
O'Leary knows more than anybody else that he can't do have of the ideas that he blurts out to the press but O'Leary also knows that there is no such thing as bad PR.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
