  • I had a chest infection this year and I was just knocked out. I spent literally two days straight playing cafe world on facebook because I was so bored and even trying to potter round the house made me exhausted. In the end I made a rag doll. It kept me busy and I thought I would give it away as a present. Actually I kept her because I think she is the first doll I'm not scared of.

Do you do any craft? Maybe you have a friend or relative who could teach you something you could do from your sofa. Also try out librivox.org - worked wonders for me when my eyes hurt looking at a book. It is free book podcasts - you can listen to them from a computer or download onto an MP3 player.

I hope you get better soon - I know there is nothing worse than being stuck when you are used to being active.

Going to have to find some major mind distractions and ways to cheer myself up! Perhaps the xmas shopping will have to start early from the comfort of my sofa.

  • :A Feeling virtuous today.

£100 payment made to bank of mum and dad

Then I felt like rounding up my debt payments made so far to a nice number so paid £10.20 to the car insurance credit card.

10 days until payday and I can start filling in the little boxes on my excel budget sheet again :j

  • Well done! That's brilliant. I think if you have to do shopping - Christmas shopping isn't a bad idea. Just make sure you stick to your budget ;)

  • Received a Natwest annual statement book today and boy was it eye opening. Firstly because I didn't know they hard started doing them and secondly to see my spending!

In the past 12 months I have spent over £3000 on clothes and stuff from boots...and that is just the stuff accounted for on the Natwest account as I was spending money on clothes from my HSBC overdraft too!

Just goes to show how I really buried my head in the sand during my emotional spending binges and how little debt I would actually have if I hadn't done so :(

It was really interesting to see the months where I had spent significantly more than I had earned/put into the account. There was a definite pattern of major events in the past year that I wasn't emotionally coping with.

I am glad it has come in the month that I had my LBM and started to turn things around. I am going to keep it in a safe place and look forward to receiving one next year - hopefully with a real turn around in my spending habits! :rotfl:

It certainly has made my LBM shine even stronger than before.

  • :rotfl:Have had a savvy shopping day today

Switched phone line rental from BT (rip off merchants) to Sky to save £10 a month and next month can change o2 broadband to sky to save another £10 a month...as sky finally can provide broadband to our area! :j

Switched Gas/Electric to a better tarrif, earning £120 from company reward cashback site.

Went to Boots to buy a few bits for me that I needed and start the xmas present ball rolling. Ordered £40 of vouchers from reward site (so only paid £36 for them), bought the ted baker special gift for £19 as a pressie, some bits for me and got £4.50 back on my boots card in reward points! Even managed to exercise control by buying my usual moisturiser on 3 for 2 instead of the no7 one I fancied at £21 a pot.

I now have £253 on my boots card....I really should treat myself!

  • Ventured out of the house on my own for the first time in ages. A realy struggle with the bad knee but had a hair appointment!

Am really pleased with myself because I popped into primark after hairdo to have a little browse. Saw a few things that I really liked and would normally have filled up a basket with and impulce bought....but this time I walked out with nothing! :T To make things even better I didn't have that horrible sick feeling that I used to get when used to try and walk out of a shop with nothing.

Made a payment of £64 towards debts today instead and actually looking forward to my next MBNA statement to make a big payment towards my debt :rotfl:
