One day when I felt like this, I did a bizarre thing. I made up a catalogue of the sorts of things I like to spend money on that I already have in my house. So in my catalogue were books, dvds, computer games, bath stuff. I never finished making it because I immediately wanted to use the stuff I already had once I had written "an advert" for it.
I tried to choose things that I haven't used at all or very much. I still think I could add to it when I feel like that again. A lot weird, but it worked!

Money winging its way into current account. Looking forward to logging in on monday to see it there. Looking even more forward to clearing the HSBC overdraft and closing the account, then living on my budget in the black on my account

Absolutely shattered today and very hung over. Surprising though that I don't feel like buying anything to cheer me up.Overdrafts transferred to MBNA £953.40/£4279.80 Car insurance (on CC) £461.98/£751.98  Bank of mum and dad £1500/£5000Total debt repaid £2915.38/£10,031.78 (29%):T Owed [STRIKE]£10,031.78[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £7400[/STRIKE] £7116.40 Pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge £1127.60/£40000 -
Head is absolutely pounding from an 11 hour day at work
Still have shed loads of marking to do tonight as well so there will be no let up for me. At least it means I have no desire whatsoever to even look at the online shops! Have to out tomorrow evening and buy mum a present for her birthday but even that doesn't interest me.
Money still hasn't been transferred yet, I wish it would hurry up. Ripped trousers in class , thankfully just the top so no embarrassing incidents but annoyed all the same.
Day was made even more irritating when I came home to find the tv license renewal reminder....has it really been a year since I last paid?! grmuble grumble grumble...Overdrafts transferred to MBNA £953.40/£4279.80 Car insurance (on CC) £461.98/£751.98  Bank of mum and dad £1500/£5000Total debt repaid £2915.38/£10,031.78 (29%):T Owed [STRIKE]£10,031.78[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £7400[/STRIKE] £7116.40 Pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge £1127.60/£40000 -
Relief. Money is in (went in on Tuesday) and I have cleared both overdrafts with it. I am now feeling really motivated to stick to my budget and be good with my money :A
It feels really good to see my account in 'normal' figures rather than minus figures and it seems so much easier to want to keep it that way
Went to a hen do last night and somehow managed to only spend £10 of the £30 budget I took out with me so that was a result! Did a little bit of online shopping today and am really pleased with myself as I only intended to buy some new work shoes (with 25% DP discount) and that is all I bought! I had a good browse around the site but completely resisted the urge. :jOverdrafts transferred to MBNA £953.40/£4279.80 Car insurance (on CC) £461.98/£751.98  Bank of mum and dad £1500/£5000Total debt repaid £2915.38/£10,031.78 (29%):T Owed [STRIKE]£10,031.78[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £7400[/STRIKE] £7116.40 Pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge £1127.60/£40000 -
Well done! Sounds like you are on a roll. Once a habit forms it is easier and easier. At least that's what I keep telling myself!Grocery Challenge £114.22/ £1100

When I was younger I was very good and careful with my money. Then I developed an emotional spending habit that spiralled out of control and I reached the point of never ever looking at bank statements in denial.
Looking forward to a whole new me

Have had a good week with regards to my budget etc. Have not spent any more than the cash I withdrew and put in my purse, still have some money left over from it and that was with paying two xmas meal deposits for work.
Have got some stuff to take back to shops from some spending before my LBM but I have no motivation to leave the house at all. Needs to be done though, as it will be £70 back in my pocket. Just need to fight the urge to exchange the stuff I am taking back rather than refunding it, especially as I have been paid early this month!Overdrafts transferred to MBNA £953.40/£4279.80 Car insurance (on CC) £461.98/£751.98  Bank of mum and dad £1500/£5000Total debt repaid £2915.38/£10,031.78 (29%):T Owed [STRIKE]£10,031.78[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £7400[/STRIKE] £7116.40 Pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge £1127.60/£40000 -
Went to primark today and did something I have never managed before in the past....I took some things back and actually got a refund rather than exchanging (and inevitably spendin more!). So that is £30 back in my pocket :j
Exchanged my DP trousers for a jumper that I really wanted, and again managed to spend no extra money!
Took jeans back to New look and swapped for a better fitting pair of jeans which we £10 cheaper.
So all in all I have 'made' £40 today! When the money goes back into my account I am going to send it straight in the direction of the Credit card to clear a little bit more off :A
Have £75 cashback due soon on my staff rewards site (car insurance and credit card application) and can't wait until that also goes in. Even more money to throw at the debts :TOverdrafts transferred to MBNA £953.40/£4279.80 Car insurance (on CC) £461.98/£751.98  Bank of mum and dad £1500/£5000Total debt repaid £2915.38/£10,031.78 (29%):T Owed [STRIKE]£10,031.78[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £7400[/STRIKE] £7116.40 Pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge £1127.60/£40000 -
Well done! I have never taken anything back to a shop for a refund (and there have been times when I should have). So you are a lot braver than me. Well done for not spending any extra cash when shopping too - you are flying now!Grocery Challenge £114.22/ £1100

:mad:Only a few weeks back at work and the stress has really kicked in! Feel on top of most things but have the joy of jaw and headache from grinding my teeth in my sleep
I guess the positive side of it is that I have no desire to shop whatsoever. Just have no energy for it! Long may this lack of shopping desire continue
Getting the car serviced on Saturday - could be an expensive one
but thankfully the bank of mum and dad won't expect a payment this month if I have to pay out a lot on the car!
