I won't because a) that would imply that either I or OH has had more than one sexual partner and b) I know we haven't and therefore there's nowhere I could have got the HPV which can cause cervical cancer from which makes it a needless test. Obviously the assumption behing the universal screening is that everyone does have multiple sexual partners but there seems to be no acknowledgement of the fact that the risk is extremely low if you don't.jillie1974 wrote: »definitely get smears. the HPV that causes cervical cancer can be in yor body without you ever knowing. infact most people are infected and dont realise. some strains are strongr thanothers and all can go on to cause cancer.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

kitkat - to tide you over why not cold water steralise? its relatively quick - 20-30 mins max i think and you can buy a lot of tablets (60 plus) for under £1 in boots! All you then need is some cold water and an ice-cream or tupperware style box ( a lid is useful).
HTH and your new one comes sooner rather than later.

Wooo I hope Wee James makes it home soon!:Tboogellyboo wrote: »Gisi I really like the top, very cute. So far I've got Isla an ELC cash register, some books and an elmo (she's elmo obsessed atm!) There's a few bit's I've marked in the ikea catalogue too so hoping to get there next week for those. I've made her a completely OTT pretty girly dress too, it look's more like a bridesmaid dress ha ha, I just hope she grow's into it by her birthday.
Aless - lot's of good luck vibes.
Wee James may be coming home in the next couple of weeks
Once his oxygen levels are acceptable and he's keeping his bottles down he's allowed home :j
Thanks for the meetball advice (lol) WE'll have some 2mo, I need to now make some pastry and get my beef and ale pie in'th oven - eep I've only made a pastry top myself once before and it wasn't very good
wonder if I can put it in the oven with the cheesecake...
Kitkat do you have a big tupperware box or food/freezer bag? I'd go for cold water sterilisation until you're sorted
ETA - I was sent an app for a smear at 18, cancelled it and refused another then a few months later the age was changed to 25, I had my first at the same time I had my IUS put in this year, it feels just as it is, a little plastic brush being rubbed on your cervix, worst bit is the speculum - those things are grim!0 -

yes the risk is low but i still think that the test is one worth having. There have been cases of women who have never had sex or like you, just 1 partner who have still developed cervical cancer.
but each to their own and i know you are anti-tests that you dont need to have'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
I am very sorry RMAC but i cannot come on friday
Charlie has just been back to the doctors and it isnt just a virus, he has hand foot and mouth! as it is very contageous i would rather be careful and stay at home rather than A come down with it. im so disappointed as i have a list of what to get and even had decided what to wear lol!
Will definatly make a date soon though
What's for you won't go past you0 -

Ooh, my baby decided to throw herself head first off the end of the sofa... Hit our new expedit on the way to the floor and grew a beautiful egg on her forehead 2mins before we had to leave for school... There's even a little very straight scratch right in the middle... I rubbed in some out of date arnica because it was all we had...
Then 2 mins after we got back from school she did exactly the same only this time landed on a big balloon of Aimee's that kind of rolled her forwards and she landed like a big squashed fly on her chest with her legs up in the air...
Someone needs to tell her it's not safe to jump up and down at the edge of the sofa...
It's no good me telling her, she doesn't listen...
Oh, and she's back there again... Might take her socks off... It'll make her more non-slip I think...
Hope Charlie feels bettter soon Caz

Thanks for your help everyone
I am doing a spot of cold water sterilising, think I am just being lazy.. its so much easier when you just chuck it in the steriliser and press a button LOL.
I need to go post some letters but the baby is sleeping, so I shall sit here and wait until OH finishes work.
Well I have made it through 3 days of OH working and me being alone with the baby, I actually quite like it... but I would like to start having my cereal in the morning, not for lunch LOL.
Did I mention my OH is working... hehe sorry I am just well chuffed he has a job... finally!!
Eeek all this talk of smears... I hate having them done... I always feel violated after and have to shower for ages.... makes me shiver just thinking about it...0
