I can't really remember if it hurt checking how dilated I was but I do remember after a lot of unsuccessful pushing the mw feeling to check Alfie's position and it actually feeling quite a bit more comfortable to have some pressure in the other direction!
They used to offer smears from 18 around here! So I had one then, then when I thought it was time for the next one I wasn't allowed cos they'd raised the age.
I'm getting my hair cut this afternoon but not sure what to do with it.0 -

I take it all back about the cupcake seller as the mould has just arrived in the RM van. No idea what the package that needs paying for is....maybe the in-laws have sent something to OH!
Give them some negative feedback :rotfl:0 -

Don't worry, I will:rotfl:. They're the kind of people who would just put a stamp on any size package!

GISI - I multiquoted you the other day but forgo to hit the reply button and it was lost
How is your foot now? what you described sounds similar to what my sister suffers from Plantar fasciitis I was thinking it coulds be that your feet have spread during pregnancy and you're now getting pain because your back at work so on your feet more than you were during ML ?? anyhoo IMO if the pain stay a while or keeps coming back go see your doctor and see about a referral to physio or podiatry
I got my blue antilop yesterday in ikea, I took my £10 off WYS £60 voucher just in case I decided to buy the kids kitchen while there, I didn't get it (need to work out if I can sort out somewhere to put it because I decided we NEED it) but to my complete surprise I spent enough to use it any way
Can someone tell me what ikea meatballs should look like as a meal, I've never had them but I bought some and the sauce and some lingonberry jam yesterday. are you supposed to serve them with the sauce AND jam like you would use cranberry/redcurrant jelly?:o
I've not been on the last few days so hope everyone is ok
Chris was sick in the night on sunday (why does he only ever throw up ON me and when I'm BFing Edgar ??!!) he was totally wiped out by whatever caused it (most likely OH giving him questionable ham ) I had to wake him up at 10am both days and on monday he woke, ate 1/2 slice of toast with jam and then fell back asleep for about 3hrs! He woke up usual time this morning but I kept him home to make sure he managed to eat bfast and stay awake afterwards, he was fine so I dropped him at nursery at lunch.
Off to make the base for CFR cheesecake now.0 -
definitely get smears. the HPV that causes cervical cancer can be in yor body without you ever knowing. infact most people are infected and dont realise. some strains are strongr thanothers and all can go on to cause cancer.
in Ire Rep, you are advised to go for your first smear a year after 1st having sex'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Sami we have the meatballs with the sauce, jam and mashed potato. And now I want to go to Ikea and get some for tea!
Hope Chris is okay now too. Isla's been randomly sick today and yesterday, just sat on the floor playing one minute then you hear a gurgle and she get's a little sick, looks shocked then carries on playing. She doesn't seem poorly at all but she's never been a sicky baby so it seem's a bit odd.
I turned 30 this year and I think I'm already in double digits for smear tests. My first was at 20 IIRC and I had abnormal cells so had to go back. I've had a colposcopy since and am monitored yearly for cell changes. The one after Isla was born is the first normal one I've had!
Gisi after you mentioning first birthdays on fb you've got me looking at present idea's. Do you know what your getting for Henry yet?Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -
I can't remember what it felt like when the MW was checking how dilated I was. Just shocked I'd made it to 5cm at home, as we'd gone to the hospital expecting to be told to go away. Then she used a funny mirror on a stick thing (I think) to be having a check when I was in the pool. I was so off it on endorphins (had 2 puffs of entonox and hated it) I really don't know what she was up to really.

Thanks for that link Sami. Reading through it it does sound like the pain I have been getting, and it says one of the remedies can be motion control footwear, which is what I wear for running after having my gait analysed (years ago). It's much better today (but I've been on my feet less) so I'll see how it goes.
Boo- we have got Henry this, a Happyland zoo and police station plus a load of books and a few Ikea bits. What are thinking of for Isla?:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Smears shouldn't (and don't) generally hurt. Please get them done, no matter how scary it is. It's better than having a severe illness that you could have caught years ago. In the USA, they smear every year after you start having sex, so I kinda wormed my way into getting my one here even though I was under 25 (told them I was high risk...which is kinda true).
When I was checked for dilation, it hurt like a mo' fo', that's all I'm saying.
Back from job interview. Not sure how it went since it was the sort where they just read questions off a piece of paper and don't give you much feedback. But apparently there were 279 applications, so I'm feeling pretty chuffed that I managed to get the interview in the first place. Please send good vibes for this one - pays well, is local, and could really be a positive move - and I think our CM is starting to get a bit impatient for me to find something.
