I know but that house was SO perfect. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO perfect. After my mam spoke to the woman on Friday she said it was mine so i told DS and he's gonna be heartbroken. If she hadn't said that i wasn't gonna tell him. Well my mother nagged me into telling him.:mad::mad::mad:
None of the houses they own are anywhere near as good as that one. The rest are too surrounded by chavs
I'm so sorry, that's crap news for you.
Same with the family fund. They have changed it so that they take into account tax credits. So we are no long eligable for help. Which is so silly, anyone with a disabled child who is eleigable to apply, is getting middle rate personal care DLA which puts your tax credits up. So many of us who have a working parter are now unable to claim.
This makes me  too!
The council tax thing is just bizarre! Why should we pay more council tax than the clampits next door just because OH earns more!
Mind you, it doesn't really matter because they don't pay any council tax anyway, everyone else pays it for them instead, along with their rent.
I wonder if the benefits cap is a total amount, including the rent/council tax/prescriptions that they always seem to forget they're getting? I think a cap is a good idea, depending how they do it.
ETA: Hmmmm...
He told the Conservative Party conference it would be set at the amount "the average family gets for going out to work", which is about £26,000 a year.
The cap will apply to the combined income from jobseekers' allowance, income support, employment support allowance, housing benefit, council tax benefit, child benefit and child tax credit
MFD That goes for me too. In 2013 V will be at school and OH will be Chief of Police. :rotfl::beer:0 -
Aww Beenie
I am very sad and enraged for you
they had better deliver asap for you!!
In other news, FIL went to airport to collect guest 2... whose flight departure date is indeed 4th October... from NY, landing on 5th October
one more night without an extra tenant I guess! Hard on FIL especially with tube strike today though! 0 -
Thanks all. I am rapidly heading to Bitterdom where i ask myself what did i do so wrong to everyone that not only do i get let down, but they lead me on first just to make sure it hurts the mostest. They both said it was definitely mine. The only way it could have gone wrong was if i was later found to have had rent arrears, which i don't. And now they're gonna move some ungrateful junkies in who won't bother looking after the lovely garden and appreciate the place.
I did say i wasn't gonna get my hopes up because it was too good to be true, but when the woman said what she said, well there was no going back. I didn't expect there to have been a mistake like that made, in a million years.
On the plus side, i am at the top of their list so the next one that becomes vacant is mine. Apparently. But it will be terraced and most likely at the back of the estate where i don't want to be.0 -
Something else that gets factored in round here is the cost of going anywhere. You may save a £2 on buying £5 worth of shopping by going to the bigger store but anyone with any brains knows the fuel cost to get there costs you more, but do people get it. It makes more sense to buy from the villlage store when it's urgent. The amount that is wasted is stoopid!
Edit, Beenie, I know it's soo hard but I really really hope it works out for you. Hopefully the next will be so good you'll be glad it fell through. Well I hope so anyway. XXXToo many children, too little time!!!
