Sorry I didnt get back to you Gill. Im sorry to hear that your friends OH is like that. And being a mum for the first time can knock your confidence anyway so goodness knows how she's feeling at the moment!
Oh, and youre not a bad mummy, im sure T wont be holding it against you in 10 years time!
Hello SirMonster and ethelsmum! Nice to see you here. With regards to BFing, I would agree with what has pretty much said- 6 weeks things seem to fall into place. Co-sleeping is great! And I was in a similar position to you ethel, A was a hungry baby when born and constantly crying as my milk wasnt satisfying her. I weaned her off formula around the 8 week mark. Before that, she would have her bottles and in between I would latch her on to help my milk production, eventually I could drop a bottle at a time before she was fully feeding. She was attached to me pretty much all the hours under the sun though. And she still feeds every few hours.
A has got a mega cold- poor mite was up pretty much all night crying as her nose was blocked, making her panic with her breathing. Had her in with us but only managed the odd half hour of sleep from 2-5. DH went to work looking like a zombie. Went out to Tesco at 6 and bought some karvol, saline spray and got a plug in thingy for the bedroom. Seems to help with her blocked nose but still lots of tears when she sniffles (TMI alert) and you can hear her swallowing her snot! Then she is sick because of all the flem building up so not feeding well either.I think she has smiled about 3 times all day.

Actually, I forgot to say - I think the best tip for BFing mummies with hungry babies is - buy a sling. Latch the wee one on while in the sling and you have both hands free and can get on with whatever you need two hands for, so even though you're still feeding all the hours in the day you're not fretting about other stuff or stuck to the sofa. And it's lovely for baby to be all cuddled up to Mum all the time.
And big cuddles for Michelle and A, must be so frightening to be a small baby with a coldOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Thanks ladies, seemed a good idea to offer to buy the pressies as last year they were a bit pants and cost a lot.
Sorry about LO Michelle, when they're poorly you don't really do much but cuddle them, on the teeny weeny positive side, catching a cold helps to build up her immune system, I've started Maddy on vitamin drops to help through the winter, did wonders last winter with the older ones. Erin had one sick day all year.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Thanks Gill, I've just redeemed my vouchers again :j
Let's hope they arrive this time. I'm getting close to a third one, too, although they took 1500 points off me because someone already had an accountOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

And I think we may have emptied the Bargain Books website of their best deals over the past couple of weeks. I really need stuff for about a pound that looks like it cost at least double that. I think those Tweenies Dominoes will be good.Too many children, too little time!!!0

Because it was only ever played on those Euro chart type programs that came on about 3am, once television started running through the night. I was an insomniac for most of my teen years. Theres no way it would ever have been allowed on top of the pops. And there WM goes again, showing her age........0
