MFD don't you think that you should be teaching B that tables aren't for climbing on? I'm a bit :eek:at it IMO they are old enough to learn that is unacceptable behaviour. :s:o

    Are you having a laugh?

I don't see it as unacceptable at all, dangerous maybe but it is hardly the end of the world if he wants something on the table.

I doubt very much that he will turn into a teenager who still climbs onto the table to do some drawing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

S is a climber. He'll climb onto tables, sofas, chairs, stairs, windowsills, fireplaces, shelving units. All I can do is remove him from danger when he does it. If he's stood on the floor he'll find a toy under his feet to stand on rather than standing on just the floor. If I told him off every time he did it I'd never do anything else, and believe me I've tried that tactic! Its easier and much less upsetting for the whole family if I just remove him from danger and say gently "No, thats dangerous. Get down please" ;) He will climb straight up again, though, there is no distracting him.

Benjamin purposefully goes and gets something to stand on when he watches TV - you are completely right, life is too short :D

We had a lovely afternoon at my friends daughters 1st birthday party. I had lovely cuddles with 2 beautiful newborn baby girls - one who is 18 days old and one who is 4 days old :A I nearly stole them both!!

LOL! Bexta, my friends LO takes any opportunity to sneak a feed. Her mum was lying on the floor doing something with the cables to the tv, she wriggled over, hoiked her top and stole a feed. Yet if she picks her up for a feed she refuses. Shes only into sneaky feeds.

I dont know how to look at their previous bids, it shows an anonymous username (well starred the middle). Can you do it from that? :o

ah I hate the hidden bidder thing, I don't think I could find out sorry :( I would still report it to ebay tho

    Not at all.
I thought a self-titled victorian mother would be more strict about children using furniture as climbing frames *shrug*
I'm genuinely interested in what age you think its becomes unacceptable/you will stop him?

My Children sit at a table to draw, as I did as a child. We don't have a dining table any more but if I still did and a friend of mine came to visit and their child climbed on it I would expect them to remove the child and tell them off.
I'm not saying your wrong/I'm right or anything, just surprised as I thought you would be stricter on something like that.

Have read back a few pages - night feeds???? :o:o:o:o:o
Dropped around 4 months, started again at 9 months (when I went back to work) and still has one at 12 months :o:o:o:o He just won't drop it and whilst I'm only up for 10mins max, I CBA to try stopping it again. It takes hours to get him off and I just give up anyway!

J is a climber too - he tries to stand on top of his Ride On Car and shuffle it along and can almost climb into the bath! We are in the process of clearing our dining room table so that we can start actually using it, oh and I bought the Antilop today!! :D But the legs are so wide so at the mo it take up loadsa room. Got it for a rather bargainous £7 as they had none in stock so I got a display one (which had been on the wall) with £5 knocked off :money:

Bought his new shoes on Wednesday - went for Clarks ones. Got these

Can't get wellies until he's a size 4. He walks everywhere now but we have noticed (well, nursery did) that his left foot turns out slightly when he walks :(

hugs to everyone, I'm so busy right now with work and home stuff so no chance to keep up
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

I wouldn't expect him to do it anywhere else, and he wouldn't, but I don't think it is unacceptable for him to climb on the table to draw, he can't reach properly from a chair, although he has recently starting sitting to eat with us on a chair if we are having sandwiches/finger foods.

I am not sure what you think is so unacceptable? I am not sure what I am supposed to be strict about? I am very confused that someone who doesn't have a dining table thinks that it is important that my child isn't allowed onto mine to draw *shrug*
